1.
Got a gig tonight which thankfully, is only a 30 minute set. Been feeling ill all week and was actually off work Tuesday. Feel a little better not but still have chest cough, sort through, runny nose, aches and pain, headache, feel sick and no energy at all. Been drinking lots of water and energy drinks, plus ibuprofen, lemsips and strepsils. Any other suggestions for a quick fix to make me feel better and get me through tonights gig??
Are sure it's not Swine Flu? best stay ay home if it is.
2. Nice collection. if you ever get around to selling that Les Paul bass let me know.
3. It screams neck dive, but i'm probably wrong. can't make my mind up about that one.

5. I never bothered putting these on ebay. so i'll try again. i bought a Pbass off Clarky and these were on the bass. he decently provided the originals in the sale and i prefer the sound of those. these Pups are £75 new, so say £55 plus a couple of pounds postage. from the Wizard site, http://www.wizardpickups.co.uk/shop.asp?category=Bass
6. As an Encore we usually do Rebel Yell and then i predict a riot. the latter i have never bothered to learn as by then the punters don't care what it sounds like and i don't like the song anyway. not very professional know but then i'm not a pro and we play pubs. i'lll stop digging now.
7. Yeah i've used them before with no problems, but that was on the phone. Norton warned about phishing so im a bit hesitant to use them on line.
8. I need a couple of 4ohm Celestions speakers for a cab i have, i got on to a site that i have used before. i think i used ebay the last time.i phoned earlier today but got a nobody here message, i decided to get on the site and order direct, so got has far as how do you want to pay and Norton flashed a message up blocking the site. i guess its ok to name them. Anyone had any dealings with them? i suppose i'd better carry on trying the phone.
9. Any chance of being put on the list? Ta.
10. At a local pub, the Landlady gave me free beer all night. the rest of the band don't drink. so i felt a bit of a pig. Not.
11. One way to sell an item. Warning. not a bass. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...E:X:RTQ:US:1123
12.
I have quite strong views on this. If a band can't produce a totally "live" live album then they shouldn't do one. It rankles me when bands/artists pull the wool over peoples eyes just so they can pretend to be better than they really are. Mind you, it's not as bad as going to a "live" show and not getting a "live" show... Here's a LIVE album I played on...and guess what...It's all live. mp3 samples
Hey Steve, if you don't mind me asking what made a pro player in a pretty well known band come on Basschat.(your the only one on here as far as i know) i've always wondered if they have any interest in what the rest of the bass playing community are doing and playing.
13. Band mates, don't ya just love em, played at a small pub in a room the size of an average living room. me and the singer asked could we keep it down. so we did a sound check which was ok. before went on we again said lets not let the volume creep up. Guitarist- o'k but i have volume pedal. Singer- if i see you going for it i'll kick you in the back of the leg. so, when we started up. WTF!. one Pa speaker was inline with my and i was blasting. i spent the whole of the first half trying to catch the guitarist's attention cos he has the desk by his side. no luck. at the break i let him know what i think. there's not a lot i can do about the speaker, there;s no other place to put it. which was fair enough but how about turning it down. i'm sure everything's been turned up. me, i cant reach my amp from where i am so its been on three all night, (its a TE 300WATT) second half wasn't so bad but it did creep up again, after the second from last number which was a town called Malice the singer complained she couldn't hear the vocals so the guitarist turns it up. its so loud its distorting and i can't understand a word she's singing. after the gig there was a bit of complaining but i have a feeling it's all been left for practice Tuesday. incidentally, our guitarist has Two 100watt combo's linked together along with two Boss pedals one of which he has linked up to the PA. overkill if you ask me.
14. I had a play of this yesterday and it's well worth the money and more. i'm seriously thinking about it although i do need a 2x10 cab first.
15. In a band situation i haven't a clue. but if i go into a shop to try a bass or i'm buying a bass off someone, all i can remember is the first few bars of Sunshine of your love.
16. I'm sure this has been around before, although not at this price. check out the Marshall stack in his other items. one was made for Pete Townsend, the one with kid in, not the Hendrix one. 17. It seems pretty flaky at the moment.
18. I have been trying to log on for most of the day with no luck. has the site been down? as the last possting seems to be about 5ish i guess it has.
19. Tee has an Epi for sale in basses for sale at £150, which is a pretty good price.
20. Let us know how it works out. looks good.
21. I had a Tokai T/bird up for sale here a while back but nobody wanted it, so stuck it on ebay and it sold ok. the humbuckers on it were pretty loud and sounded good. there's the neck dive but that didn't bother me, i just did not like the feel of it., if your going for a Thunderbird i would recommend the Tokai.
