1.
and how to deal with right handed colleagues and fellow players who don't seem able to understand why we can't all just be like them, cos wouldn't it make life so much easier?
Andy, I really don't think it's such a big deal... if you're left handed, it doesn't make you inferior, but you know that would be patronising if I thought that. I already answered your first point regarding supply & demand. But if anyone wants to contribute then fire away.
2.
Us lefties are sensitive souls.
He must have got up on the [s]right[/s]WRONG side of the bed! I'll get my coat!!
3.

I know..... FFS. I've never been bollocked for apologising for something I never said before.
4. Oh.... thought it was a link to some bird called Tina at the Tom Tom Club in Weymouth.
5. Where's one?
6.
Come to think of it, the responses I've had since I posted the comment kind of make my point for me.
What point? Since I appear to be the only poster since your comment who is right handed, how have I reinforced your 'point'. I was just trying to continue the level of humour that some left handed contributors in this thread started. I offer my apologies if you have mis-construed my posts. I'm not Nick Griffin. Personally, I would love to take lessons from a left handed tutor as it would be a mirror image for me..... just an observation and not a derogative comment.
7. And Steve has a very good point.... why should left handed people have to pay more for tailored goods? I seriously never knew that kitchen knives were available (albeit at an additional cost) in a left handed format. I thought a kitchen knife would be asymetrical? (Did I spell that correctly?)
8. Did you say 'light' or 'right' Steve?
9. Don't be disappointed Andy... we're not exactly discussing world politics or religion here. It's just humour and I think the vast majority can take it as such. FTR, my three year old daughter is a 'leftie' and has a recorded IQ of 174 for her age!! The reason that proportionate sales of left handed equipment does not equal the percentage of lefty society is because most lefties try to adapt to right handed gear. Supply & demand etc, it's not rocket science. I'm off now to laugh at Connie trying to open a tin of beans!
10. I'm pretty sure we found the left handed version of basschat last year.... Here's a screen shot of ku.oc.tahcssab.www
11. Heard very good things from Russell (From The Jam) about this band. Hope things work out for you Johnny13.... if I was based round your way I'd have been more than willing to help you out until something more permanent came along. Try throwing up an advert on the FTJ forum (seen you on there) and seeing what happens. There are a few good musicians on there (and lots of bad ones too!!!).
12. These are great little amps. Used one at a gig in London recently.... I was going to set up my Markbass rig which would have been a hassle but I plugged into the 'house' rig (one of these) and was pleasantly surprised. At this price, someone should snap your fingers off!!
13. Ooh... loads! Tubestation by The Jam Cupid's Dead by Extreme Strength by The Alarm
14. I've still got to [s]wine & dine, flowers, chocs, candles, massage, hours of foreplay etc[/s] 'persuade' Mrs Tombboy to let me buy it yet!
15. PM'ed
16. Bought a MOTU digi-I/O-interwossit-thingy from Si. Perfect service and kept me fully updated. I got about a dozen free carrier bags with it too!!!
17.
The combos are supposed to be beautiful sounding (less wattage yeah?) wouldn't mind hearing one of those in action.
I think Eddie has a warped sense of humour... the combo weighs a bloody tonne and they gave you one poxy little handle on the top!!!
18. Getting back to the OP.............. You're right, it is! Now, are you selling this or just showing off?
19. I use my TA503 as a pre in my studio.... no problems.
20. Michael Anthony! Ok... he may not be the most talented of players (check out his solo on 'Live Without A Net' for a giggle) but when VH sacked him he was humble beyond words and wished EVH well with his rehab. Kept his hand in and is now coining it in with Chickenfoot.
21. Ooh look... there's a 'wanted' section in the marketplace!
22. My custom was ordered through Darren at Bass Merchant in Colchester. You can't order direct from Sandberg. Synergy is the UK distributer and all dealers go through them. Darren was very helpful and kept me fully updated. Gave a generous discount off the RRP (I know they all do but this was a very good whack!!). The whole process from idea to product in my hands was about nine weeks, which is bloody quick for a custom finish.
23. Here's my two babies..... First off the 'black beauty' next to my rig. This is 'Dear Old Blighty' in my studio
24.
I've played a few of these and I can honestly say I've never played a bad one. For 5 strings they've got the kind of low B you would only hear on instruments which cost double the price. The cool thing about Sandberg is they'll also do custom work for you. A while ago I was toying with the idea of a 24 fret jazz with no pick guard, a tapered heal and a deeper lower cutaway for easier upper fret access. I emailed Sandberg and they came up with some ideas straight away and because it was still relatively within the parameteres of the existing california model it was gonna cost roughly the same money! The only reason I didn't order it was cos of unforseen financial problems, I may still order it in the future. Great guys to deal with as well. I honestly don't think you'll be dissapointed mate.
+1 for communication too. When ordering my custom I was in constant emails with Henrik at Sandberg who kept me up to date with everything. I used Darren at Colchester's Bass merchant to organise the order by the way..... effortless and only an eight week wait.
