  1. Nope :(
  2. There will be a Fury II and a USA Millennium along reasonably soon...
  3. Paul's original sale thread (sadly without pics, they were way better than mine):
  4. Peavey Fury. A nicely-made, uncomplicated, quality bass, made in the USA in the mid to late 1980s. It's a passive, bolt-on four-string with a ridiculously skinny neck (37mm at the nut) and an aggressive P-sounding pickup. Weight is 3.9 kg, or 8.5 pounds in old money. Controls are tone and volume. I've no idea what the strings are. The action is reasonably low; I'm sure it would benefit from a setup. I had it from BCer Paul S in 2014, on my quest for the skinniest neck known to man; since when it's mostly sat in a case. I've never gigged it. It's not being used, and I need the space and the money. It has some minor dings, but nothing major; it's in good nick for its age. The trussrod turns well (a Gibson TR spanner fits it). When I plugged it in a week ago I couldn't get any sound out of it; I took the scratchplate off and applied some contact cleaner, and it's been fine since then, but I've reduced the price somewhat to reflect the possibility it will need the electrics looking at. The volume pot has a whisper on it when the volume is changed. £150 plus shipping (at cost), bank transfer preferred; I'd prefer not to send outside the UK. I will pack it in a cardboard bass box, in a cheapo unpadded gig bag, all suitably stuffed with bubblewrap; or I can use a battered generic hard-case if necessary for an extra £10 (it's very battered ). Alternatively, I'm happy to meet in a 50-mile radius, and I'm intending to go to north Wales late this week.
  5. And John the drummer is down here...
  6. I'd like it, but having been laid off last month I'm not able to buy at the moment. If that changes I'll be back
  7. Could you please edit the title of the item (not the text) to indicate it's sold? Thanks
  8. Bass, cable, amp. Occasionally a wireless setup instead of the cable. I need a new tuner, the clip-on doesn't work on a headless
  9. Bloody hell. A guitar pickup...
  10. Slightly off topic, I asked Thomann whether they would sell HB necks separately. No dice - apparently the manufacturer won't do it. So if you need one as a fault replacement Thomann will do it, but not as a thing on its own.
  11. I thought I recognised that map!
  12. Probably worth editing the title to say the price is reduced
  13. Lack of job. Lack of money. Lack of space.
  14. Not got one yet... when I have an income I'll sort that out
  15. That was fab, I loved it. Thanks
  16. I can never get past the look of the adjustables... it reminds me of Sellar & Yeatman's translation (in '1066 And All That') of the motto of the Order of the Garter, 'Honi soit qui mal y pense' - 'Honey, your silk stocking's coming down'.
  17. Hmmm. I am tempted, and at that price... OTOH, I have no job at the moment. So that would be madness. So I'll just have to wish you luck with your sale. If my circs change before it sells (ha!), I'll be back.
  18. Slight update: It's definitely the smiley that's doing the damage, at least wth my issue. I'm adding the smiley as the two characters. They don't have to be next to each other - they can be separated by other characters. Once you put the smiley in, it refuses to let the cursor keys or return key work. Possibly it's losing track of how long the line is?
  19. Can't add anything about Android, but I've just had my browser (Firefox on my Ubuntu Linux desktop) refuse to accept a Return key after a smiley in a PM - delete the smiley, it's fine. That might be related? Happy to provide more detail if needed.
  20. Cello lessons, from age 8 I think, which I should have continued - quit at 16, partly because of a school change, partly because I didn't really want to play in orchestras. The more bass guitar I play, the clearer I am that those lessons are a key part of my musical mindset. But I never did very much with it. I also did theory, to at least grade 5 (I found the certificate a couple of years ago), but I have no recollection of doing that at all. I've pretty much forgotten how to read music. I can't remember anything of the curriculum music lessons. Possibly I didn't have to do them? I certainly learned a lot more at home though. I do remember my parents (both teachers) talking about the sorry state of music education in schools. My dad floated the idea that if the powers that be really hated rock music so much, they should ensure it was taught in school.
  21. If I'd not been laid off last month... ah well. Thanks for posting
  22. Probably a sticker from a real one, then. Or maybe a bogus transfer.
