1.
Warmoth do a 24 fret option for their 38mm jazz necks, or are you after something more cheap and cheerful?
Thanks Cheap and cheerful would be preferable though.
 2. Where on the south coast? Brighton is a long way from Plymouth
 3.
That's really kind of you. I'm very lucky to be in a band fronted by a really great songwriter and with a bunch of talented, sensitive and almost entirely ego-free musicians (all of whom are young enough to be my kids :-).
I didn't say I wasn't jealous
 4.
... The chair is not the issue here as it's likely the sides will drop down or be removed, the bass sitting on a leg that may have impaired feeling is the issue, especially if the bass is heavy enough to affect circulation ..... ...
Again, the Aria Sinsonido would do well here, because the lower bout is removable.
 5. And it's up again: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-string-bass-Waterstone-TP12-12-string-bass-guitar-/301697400784?hash=item463e90ffd0 (No connection to the bass or the seller; I'm just interested because a mate just ordered a Dean Rhapsody 12 from Thomann.)
 6.
Whale song is epic, well done all of you! Is that a posted price?
It's a genuine inspiration. Seriously.
 7.
Why do the strings look so "wonky" coming out of the hard-tail?
Same reason they look wonky coming out of the nut, I guess; hard to fit the ends (tuners, balls) in the same space as the strings themselves. Looks like a semi to me.
 8. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-string-bass-Waterstone-TP12-12-string-bass-guitar-/301691680332?hash=item463e39b64c Don't see many of these. No idea what they're like.

 10. hi I am thinking about replacing the neck on a (cheap) bass I own. It would need to be: - 38mm nut, or not far off. - 24 frets (or equivalent). I'd be happy with or without frets. Can anyone recommend a source? Thanks
 11. Easily missed: http://www.ebay.co.u...=item33a67969b9 £150 and no bids at this stage. And a new auction, in Surrey: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hohner-The-Jack-Bass-/231632897041?hash=item35ee658411
 12. They look much less awkward when someone's playing them, don't they?
 13.
Pixie Lott is the illicit daughter of Black Francis and Kim Deal, she is of normal height, is non magical and doesn't come from Devon or Cornwall
Some people do find her acting rather wooden, though.
 14. I suggest you put the reduced price in the thread title, because at the moment people won't see it unless they read the whole thing.
 15. I tried one, didn't like it as much as the Snark which I find much easier to use.
 16.
Interesting, I had never really thought of a resonator as an alternative to an electro acoustic... Looks fantastic! We're the upgrades costly?
IIUC resonator guitars were originally designed to compete unamplified with brass sections, so it seemed obvious to me they'd be louder. I could be wrong
 17. Is string-through-body an option?
 18. Intonation is important on fretlesses. Yes, the note you get comes from the finger position (just like a cello or DB).
 19.
If you can find one used (could be a long shot given how awesome they are supposed to be) - how about an ibanez Mikro: http://www.ibanez.co...rt/GSRM20B.html
I've a Mikro I'm not using... nice little thing, fits a guitar gigbag. It would need some work though (noisy electrics), and my experience is that the E string tends to be soggy. I'm considering restringing it and tuning ADGC. But also consider Aria 690 Sinsonido. Weighs nothing, sounds great, looks good but strange... This one is a bit overpriced IMO (and fretless)... http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2a548b2eac
 20.
I watched a thing on Coast last night about this sort of paint job. It makes it harder for a U boat captain to aim his torpedoes, apparently.
So, good for those Blues Brothers gigs?
 21. I've never been a fan of that control plate. But it does look good apart from that I think I'd like the noise it makes, from your description.
 22. Careful song choice will make all the difference, in my ignorant opinion. Originals, or covers?
 23.
hi there mike from Cardiff here, I will try and see them in Bristol..thanks for the reminder
That was last year, I'm afraid. They're on in Leicester tonight, Kirkcudbright tomorrow night, Wroclaw in Poland on Sunday. Calendar: http://www.ubuprojex.com/calendar.html
