1. Then they advertise it as for sale with a "Brand new tweed case". Is that really authentic then, or is that to show you what you could have got if you had a matching guitar. Unbelievable!
 2. Please god, I cannot take anymore of this. Why would you do this, and even worse, why would you buy it?
 3. Someone wants taking out and shooting. No on second thoughts thats too good for them. I dont really know if this is a P**S take or not.
 4.
I actually know this chap and he's a lovely guy that just enjoys fiddling with guitars as a project. Love it or hate it (think I know which way it's going....) there's no need to call him a knob, is there?
I am sure he is a lovely guy, but I personally think that anyone who does this to a guitar is a knob. Its just my opinion you know. He might think I am a knob for not liking what he does to wonderful pieces of kit. He is welcome to think that.
 5. "I can send you some HUUUGE photos if you want." Yes do that please. Send me a HUUUGE photo of yourself so I know what a complete knob looks like.
 6.
What is it with all these imitation "relic'ed" basses..somebody is going to make some serious money in a few years time renovating "relic'ed" basses.. thing is..this is just a fashion thing and most of those you see are done so badly that the fashion is going to change leaving owners with instruments that look like pieces of s#!t - rather than being timeless they will be sooo dated (early 2010/11!!!)
I have said before that I dont understand the need to do this to a fine piece of equipment. My other passion is model railways, and this is happening in that field as well. 'Weathering' they call it, and when its done well it looks great. Some people call themselves experts at 'weathering' but they aren't experts at anything apart from ruining a perfectly good model. This guitar looks as though someone with a guide dog has done it. I mean that as no disrespect to anyone who needs a guide dog, but whoever has done this has no reasonable sight at all.
 7. I have just twisted my back looking at the photo. Not much torque in my spine at 64. lol.
 8. I cannot see its any different to buying a new car, bringing it home and taking it to a body shop to have that 'been to the supermarket' look. You know the thing, a couple of trolley dints, and a bad parker scrape down the side. Would any of us do that? I doubt it very much. I still think that even the factory ones are vandalism, and part of a very clever marketing ploy. Only MY opinion of course, and I acknowledge everyone wont agree.
 9. Anyone who wants paying to do that to a wonderful piece of equipment should be very painfully despatched to the afterlife.
 10.
No.
He looks like Eddie Jordan.
 11.
Found it again http://www.hobgoblin.com/local/shbigpic.php?Code=56Y0033 There is definitely more than one. How? Why?
That is definitely the lid off a B&Q toilet seat. I have just fitted one made from the same timber in my daughters toilet.
 12. I wonder which river thats been at the bottom of? I would be ashamed to let anyone know I had let a guitar get like that.
 13.
it's how you get children to do as they are told. you request they do the opposite.
Ah, I see. I must try that with my grandchildren tomorrow. Thanks for that!
 14.
reverse psychology at its finest. i dare you to put in a bid.
I am very old. You will have to explain "Reverse Psycology". Let me guess, he wants me to be intrigued by what he has put. No I still dont get it. Sorry.
 15. Sorry am I missing something. Whats the point of that then? Does he just want to show us what he has not got for sale, but wants us to see it anyway. How strange!
 16.
Hi Gramps, I also started in 1963 and am the same age as you. Main difference - I never stopped playing. My former wife (clue there, former) once said I thought more of my Fender than of her. My Churchillian response was that I would think more of a Hondo.....marriage over shortly afterwards. Hope you enjoy your playing as well as the brotherhood here. Your first bass in 1963 was?
Hi Bass Doc, Sorry its took so long to reply. My first bass was a Hofner, I think a Senator. I bought it second hand for about £12 10 shillings, and sold it for about £15 to £17. Sorry, its a long time ago. I often wish I had kept it.
 17.
If you can post the Q3HD file, then I'll probably be able to convert the file. If not here at home, then certainly at work tomorrow.
Lovely guitar. In 1963/64 I bought one exactly the same, with a black hard case, second hand for £12.10 shillings. It had been damaged on the back, but been repaired very well, and it played like a dream. I sold it in 1967 for the princely sum of £18.10 shillings. Which was about 2 weeks wages for me at the time as an engineering apprentice. Every time I see these come up for sale I wince a little bit more. Hindsight is a wonderful thing is'nt it.
 18.
Isley Brothers - Summer Breeze - instant feelgood tune
Wonderful song. Along with "Harvest for the World" I am going to give my age away but here goes with my personal choice. "Good Golly Miss Molly" Little Richard. Probably the best Rock n Roll record ever. "Dream Lover" Bobby Darin. Fabulous voice. "Peggy Sue" Buddy Holly. Add anything this man did to the list. "Romeo and Juliet" Dire Straits. Just a class record. "In Dreams" Roy Orbison. Elvis said he had the best voice ever. I aint going to Argue with him. "Summer of 69" Brian Adams. Best live show I have ever seen. Many, many more. In fact I have'nt scratched the surface, but then again I have heard some great music in 63 years. Not even mentioned all the newer stuff I like. Grandad Paul.
 19.
Are there any examples of people playing the 8 string that aren't just metal riffs?
Hey that boy good! Grandad Paul.
 20.
I've not been hit yet, although that might be down to the fact that the stands tend to disintegrate after a couple of numbers! Actually Mr Venom is pretty good at spotting where the other members of the band are and keeping clear of them. Also it's not as though the rest of us are hiding at the back of the stage... Grandad Paul, I've you're serious our next gig is at The Maze on Friday 17th September.
I am deadly serious. Just one question. Is it the sort of place a 63 yearold would be made welcome? Grandad Paul.
 21. I note you are from Nottingham. Well I am only a few miles away and I want to see this guy perform. Where are you going to be "soon". My only advice without seeing him would be purchase a Strait Jacket. The description in the Oxford English Dictionary goes something like this. "Strait Jacket.Strong garment put on maniacs to confine arms" Grandad Paul.
 22.
0 bids and not relisted.
I think he was extremely lucky to get the 0 bids. Grandad Paul.
 23. OK I am just a "Grumpy old Man", but I have never seen "anything" in the world that I would least like to own. I am no expert but it looks what it is. A home made bass guitar that someone has designed when they had taken something that has'nt suited them. Sorry Mr. Seller, but its not for me. Good Luck. Grandad Paul.
 24. Had a bass combo amp delivered by DPD. First Class service. They e mailed me with the parcels movements and the times it had arrived at the depots during its journey. I had to nip out and lo and behold I missed them. I had left a note with my mobile number on my door, and the driver rang me and asked if it was alright to leave it with my neighbour. I can only say my experience with them is excellent. Well done DPD. Grandad Paul.
