Matamp bass valve D.I. I am sick of showing up to a venue and they don't want to mic the bass cabinet(next year i will buy a good mic) and just use a rubbish d.i. I did have a sansamp bass d.i. which are amazing but i just thought about getting a handmade valve d.i. and looked aroung and Avalon(digital) is amazing and a-designs reddi looked cool but why not call Matamp and see what is possible. Andrew had a bit of fun and Put the gt200 preamp inside it which is even better. I eat meat all the time and like the thought of a meat box(not the dod pedal) for a D.I. I was told that it can get put into a power amp incase i don't want to take out the gt200 but i think some quiet gigs i might not need a cabinet and just take the direct input. these were photo's from last month but it should arrive tomorrow so i will put up the finished d.i. big thanks to Andrew and Jeff.

You know what you want but i would get a friend/bandmate to help lift gear anyway. but good luck and i look forward to the photo's

If you have £1000 then save up another £500 and get the GT200 you will feel better

I (PROFANITY REMOVED) hate Ashdown, It's a shame because i am sure all the new valve amps sound great but they look pish and i know Dave Green who used to work for Matamp worked on that but it still says Ashdown. The solid state heads are just the worst, note i can still make one sound good but thats only because of my bass. if i had a regular bass i would be (PROFANITY REMOVED) when i go to a practice pad. nae offence and sorry for the bad grammer and spelling i went to school for one hour.

Thats me downsized and finished my board. nsp made it for me but it cost alot. I got it orange to match my other flightcases and the tronographic rusty box is the best preamp around.

i have got a matamp gt200, orange 1x15 and 4x10 and everything is in a orange flightcase from nsp and i have a travis bean.

I got nsp do make me a orange pedalboard to go with my amps/flightcases and it's orange on the inside.

It will be the bass that is not sounding good not the amp. Try a different bass and try a gt200 you will love it then. If you don't then more for us so good luck.

edit: I should mention that I did slightly modify the GT200 preamp. I changed the capacitor values on the depth knob. I found that with the depth knob all the way to the right there was no where near enough bass and I could not think of any situation where I would use that setting. I moved the capacitor form the middle setting to the right and I added a new value in the middle with slightly less bass than the bassiest setting. Also, as with all my amps, I replaced the V1 preamp tube with a 5751 which has a little less gain and smoother overdrive than the ECC83/12AX7. Was it Matamp who modded the depth switch as my amp is perfect but the depth is all the way to left because the other settings do not have any bass.
