It was sold and then the seller backed out of the deal. He duly got bad feed back, and then I noticed that his feedback was getting better. He was selling silly things, like a hair for 1p, probably to another Id he owned and was giving himself good feedback!
i remember him,i bought his entire stock
 2.
Go on admit it, you never noticed it was in the states and was cacking it.
ffs man dont go there....yrs ago i was pissed and bid,won and payed for a Yam fzr1000....... to discover next morning it was a non runner.....collect from Tottenham
 3.
Nearly spilled the coffee there, best chortle of the morning! I'd go for decent quality ones like Seymour Duncan, EMG etc if you're going to the hassle of changing pickups at all. As mentioned above most of these have some identification, which a decent ebayer will make obvious. Buying on here you have a better ratio of decent types, I'd say!
Totally m8,3 deals done here and all 3 helped beyond the call of duty.
 4.
It can be very tough. Sometimes you just have to go on trust. It's nice if you can get it's resistance reading on a multimeter that you can cross reference. Some pups have identifiable serials or instantly recognisable colour combinations of wiring. Often (with Fender for example) you just have no way of fully knowing just by looking. Some manufacturers like SD place part numbers on the backs of theirs. I think Wizard put a name sticker on theirs. I have a set of Bill Lawrence pups which are distinguished from fakes or the lesser quality "factory" BLs because he was kind enough to actually hand sign them in biro. All you can do is look out for the physical signs, resin sealed, wax dipped, cloth tape/sleeving, raised poles, do they look too new for vintage etc. and compare them to pics or descriptions from the net.
cheers m8,few pointers to go on there, ideally id do all dealing here its the usual night shift boredom,no one on here to have rational freindly debates about football etc so end up roaming thru ebay........
 5.
How do you know they were off a Squier? I don't know how you tell , sorry. I have the same dilemma. I suggest buying off here because no-one wants their reputation sullied by mis-selling.
by luck as it happens, the guy listed them as"vintage 60s Fender P Bass original pickups",i won them and asked him if he had any of the other parts, thats when he told me it was a Squier he had yrs ago,i asked him why the listing said original Fender p bass,it got a little bitchy when he asked me"why whats so different between a fender and a squier by fender"and i told him not much apart from about £700 quid,we agreed that perhaps he should retain them, either back in his loft,or up his arse.so im trying to find ways of getting what is advertised as there must be hundreds of items like this, every pup i look at that fits p basses look the same to me
 6. My bids getting beat and for once im not raising it,for some reason i cant justify it even to myself ffs lol.i think its the fact its 3000 mile away,im an impatient bastard by nature and last couple of hours been getting a gut feeling about this....
 7. when looking for replacement pups and get offered "original p bass pups"....which later turn out to be off an old Squier....whats visual differences should i look for??

 9.
Very good chance they are, with all the 'mark ...' heads they were basically the same parts from the mark iii on. If you have 4 pots I can get that would be amazing mate, thanks.
Of course you can....pm yer addy....looks easier sending the front board complete, avoid damage unsoldering
 10.
Got an old mark vi head today, works lovely but a couple of the pots are snapped off, can still turn with pliers but not overly convenient.Anyone reccomend somebody to replace them Bridgend/Cardiff area?
if by chance the pots are the same as the MK111 ive so many im giving them away.......and knobs and eq sliders everything that isnt an output to be precise
 11.
And NO batteries needed!
certainly versatile,"Due to its simplicity, it is also a perfect toy and first string instrument for kids or beginners. " That conjurs quite a sketch in my house....."erm thanks dad..how did you guess id asked santa for a concrete bucket, sturdy stick and roll of string?"............"mummmmmmmmmm,dads took them drugs again that you left him for in the nineties!!!!"
 12.
Seriously paypal can take money directly from your bank account in the event someone wants a refund? I use a bank account that only has around 100 pound in at any one time, unless I'm buying something specific, and I don't have an agreed overdrat. So if they took a refund of say 1500 pound for a bass, when the money was not in the account I'd have to pay huge bank charges aswell I imagine. It's lucky I don't sell anything on ebay but I'm still shocked...
relax m8,it needs to be verified for them to take dosh out,and its usually only their listing fees,if iits not verified or contain sufficient funds they cant do jack sh*t.i get a weekly message asking me to verify, being a new seller with 300 quid getting held til the f***erS i was good enough to pay immediatley or courier on a next day tracked decide to award my feedback....they can verify my fat sweaty arse til the cows come home but the piggy banks staying tighter than a nuns flaps in a sandstorm.
 13.
£48 is the $77 quoted on the listing at the current eBay exchange rate. That reminds me - I need to change my import tax calc to 20% VAT. That means we're going to be paying a 30% premium on the shipped price (including a £15 handling charge). Thank you Mr Osborne
Tbh,i love these basses, was my first bass i could actually use, immaculatley owned y Jon here,id be happy at the end if it costs me about £300 even, there quite scarce on these shores and flogging it wouldnt be hard, ive seen 3 on ebay in 9mths,apart from mine bought here dont think many have changed hands on BC but sen a few posts looking for one.
 14.
Won't work. Dougie's blue SR800LE already lived for about 10 years with a gorgeous red SR800FL fretless - I had high hopes of an interesting hybrid, but nothing. Jon.
Never realised this Jon,red sounds rather fetching too... ......These 800s finishes are the nicest colours ive seen on guitars,f***it im gonna sell the bike,it keeps snowing anyway, and buy sr800s in all colours available.only thing i hate about the blues shinyness is i get upset if any of the kids even look at it with the usual touchy look about them, wife thought id developed a fetish when she woke at 3am and witnessed my sitting in my y fronts polishing it wearing a pair of wooly gloves and because i had "flossed under the machine heads......il point out i had been drinking.

 16.
hi all,im new to playing bass, and would like to know what the difference is between a fender p bass, and a fender squire p bass. dave
and a huge wedge of cash...im a newbie too and at my level would opt for a cheaper Squier,i think sometimes people want the original purely because its a real P bass so must sound better,my ears havnt honed to spot the difference as yet.
 17.
