1. This line sums it up beautifully: "The value of music is not dazzling yourself and others with technique. The value of music is to be able to play one note at the right time in the right way." Basically, don't waste your life woodshedding when there is as much value and joy to be taken from one note played in the right context. That is a skill that comes from playing with other people and listening, not just sat in your bedroom practicing modes or whatever.
2. Great way of looking at it, and it makes me feel even better about not being bothered to practice most of the time

take care

I hope for the sake of all you "internet policemen" this does in fact turn out to be a scam. If it isn't, however, and at the moment we have no idea either way, then all this speculation and fingerpointing is in very poor taste IMO.
4. Still looking for a band, really fancy something ska oriented with a horn section? Beggers cant be choosers though so I'll consider anything!
5. RIP. Very sad news indeed.
6.
Are you being serious here???? of course you can't adjust it anymore, unless you remove the filler...the neck is straight so why would you want to adjust it? to make it curved? - theclash1968
Unbelievable!
7. I got these today! I suppose the only thing I can compare them to would be some labella flats I once had. Less tension than those, more top end when you dig in, but these have a lovely soft feel and with the tone rolled off give a lovely dub reggae tone. I've been playing along with Bob Marley tonight, muting with my palm and plucking with my thumb, and it sounds lovely, well rounded and fat. Well worth a go if that's the sort of thing you're after - if I was playing motown I'd probably go for normal flats for the added tension and extra mid thump, but as mentioned these seem to shine when playing reggae and I expect they'll do well for blues too.

Ibanez lovers.

The neck on my ATK is more chunky than a P bass, I reckon. Definately one to try if you dont like the narrow necks, plus to my ears it sounds every bit as good as a Stingray and plays beautifully
9. What a pain! I do wonder why it is that some people seem incapable of communicating on the internet. Definately sounds like one to watch out for, sorry to hear you've been messed about.
10. He looks genuine enough, but hard to say really, especially if he's been banned for some reason. Might be worth trying to get in touch via his myspace?

New jazz!

I just love that colour. Makes me think of summer time just looking at it.
12. Depends who it is, some banned members are still active on other forums so you might be able to get in touch that way? *Edit - thinking about it though, they should still reply to their emails?
13. I bought a Hohner B2A off Pete - very prompt postage, great communication and well packed. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with again
14. Anyone used them? How's the tension/tone? *Edit I've bitten the bullet and ordered a set of Status Tapewounds. I'll post a review once I get my paws on them!
15. As I'll soon be in the possession of a headless bass, I fancy trying some flats/tapewound strings, as my ATK covers all the bases when it comes to roundwound sounds. Can anyone recommend any particular brands to try? They can't be nickel wound, due to my allergies.
16. That was a long minute, I can tell you.
17.
I'd buy the speakers out of the cab and am in Bristol. Guessing this isn't much good to you though
Tell you what, buy the cab and I'll throw the speakers in free
18. Pics now added
19. Not until I get home tonight, but yes, I will be uploading some later.
20. I've just whacked these on ebay, in case any of you local to Bristol are interested. 21. Guess I'd better get off my arse and sell my guitar amp now to avoid the wrath of my partner!
22.
No such luck, i automatically deferred to you on the assumption that you had already pmed before me and that if you didnt buy it, i would. Even if my PM did come first, technically i offered it to you first.
If it's any consolation, I'll be thinking of you when I first play it. Fully clothed!
23.
Bugger! I saw her first but i had an itch on my back i just HAD to scratch.
You never know, I might not have been the first to win the PM race!
