Bands New EP

Ha I actually really like this track
3. I've uploaded my bands first EP - A Truth Not Far Away onto soundcloud. I'd love for you guys to have a listen and give me your honest opinions. Noting special bass wise, I did my parts in a couple of takes - tracks 1 and 4 recorded using a fender 5 active deluxe, and 2 and 3 recorded using a fender P. It was recorded over 4 days at loom studios in batley/birstall. Officially released on the 1st May as a phyiscal CD and on itunes, napster etc etc etc So yea, lemme know what you think. 4. Second dibs on it if you decide to sell. I'm in Batley so not far.
5.
Surely that's not true?
In most part it is as I understand it. If buying from a company whether from here, or off ebay etc you are covered under the sale of goods act in its entirety, but if you are purchasing from a private seller then you are covered under the implied terms of the sale of goods act. In that case the old saying 'buyer beware' comes into act. If you are selling this "fender jazz, 5 years old, £xxx" - one question you want to ask is, does it work? As legally the guitar only has to match what the seller has advertised - a fender jazz that is five years old. So the more questions you ask, however trivial are in the best interests of both parties Information like this is definitely worth knowing.
6. Distance selling rules apply here just the same as they would if they bought the item from Dolphin or whatever. How many times do you go into a music shop, wander about for an hour, try a few guitars and then bugger off trying to find one cheaper on the internet? And the thing about really low offers...if you pay the asking price then so be it, but those of us who like haggling and negotiating a price know this is part of every day life buying and selling stuff. If you do not want to sell below the price you posted then a simple 'no offers' is suffice. Anyone who contacts you with an offer, just ignore them. Its not being rude, they havent taken the time to read your post, so why take the time to respond to them?
7. Youre probably playing the right notes, just some of the notes will be an octave higher than in the song so it will sound right.
8. My band is headlinging a charity gig at the Well in Leeds this Sunday. Kicks off at 3pm - 10:30pm. £2 donation on the door. All money raised goes to Martin House Hospice in Leeds which is a fantastic cause. For anyone on facebook here's the event link - http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/eve...200209126670645
9. i'd also like to know how these sound. I've been looking at the pf500.
10.
Typical tight fisted northerner. In a flat cap, with whippets.
11.
The whole 'pro' gear thing is bullshit for the most part. I've seen plenty if professional players using gear that doesn't cost thousands of pounds and they still sound great. The cost of the gear has nothing to do with anything. You could easily use a little 15 watt combo at Wembley if you wanted,if it has the sound you want-you'll be mic'ing it up anyway.
Just what I was going to say. If you find an amp that has that sound you crave does it matter that its £150 or £1500?

13.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the stolen list from the infamous Italian theft in 2006 which certain Northern UK vintage dealers are going to court for in about a month's time? Allegedly having previously stayed at the collector's villa at his invitation and then used their inside knowledge to organise the heist? From 2006: http://www.lespaulforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=118454
I'm not sure....the news story is here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bradf...kshire-12782616 157 originally stolen

15.
did you not say how not to treat a fender?????????? now your saying you would do it??????? maybe best be clear on your topics!
The topic title wasnt meant as some sort of statement. Judging by the dings in mine i'd be one to talk
16. I use a mag 300 head with 4x10 cab. Never had a problem with it being heard - you can always DI into FOH which I have done on a few occasions as thats what the soundguy wanted, and everyone else had been mic'd up....although I am playing a massive venue shortly - 1000+ - lets see how that goes!
17. Digging the red http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=101...5560&ref=nf
18. You've just played played to your biggest crowd ever at Woodstock - I doubt he was thinking best pack my sh*t up incase it gets dinged. He was probably thinking f-me, does it get any better than this? I'd definitely have thrown it.
19. from the horses mouth Mr Brian Marshall himself when I asked if that was CIA he chucked: "nah.. a fender reissue of some sort...it met it's demise later that year in orlando. no wonder it never stayed in perfect tune." I've asked him a few things on facebook, and he has always replied. He is the reason i picked up a bass, so for me thats cool as f

21. I currently run a mag 300 through the mag 4x10 cab - all good, never had a problem with it. BUT i'v been offered the Hartke cab at a seriously good price, so my question is: Which is better??
22. To cut a long story short, issues have been addressed (turns out i wasnt the only one) so iv said i will see if the situation improves over the next few weeks, and if not then i'll be off as i dont see it working for me - 3 things i want out of this band: respect, a bit of camaraderie and enjoyment
23. I picked some up a few month ago. I prefer them to the rotosounds I was using. For the money you cant go wrong.
24. Now I just set everything flat. Usually roll off the bass and treble slightly and add a bit of mid. I run through a compression pedal into a sansamp and I get a lovely tone from that. Any slight tweaks that maybe needed i noodle with the EQ on my bass (now playing an active J).
25.
So you don't get sidetracked into irrelevancies, print out your OP / list of issues and take it with you. And a selection of some of the choicer comments from this thread. Should do the trick.
Yeah i will do cheers
