1. Ive got 2, neither of them are to huge crowds like the others mentioned before but to me these moments were just incredible. The 1st one was playing at The Charlotte before it went bust, it was in my old pop punk band and we opened up with eye of the tiger and because I was going out with the owners neice he turned out all the lights so when my drum sticks lit up when I played it made the intro look amazing really proffesional. The 2nd was hearing the crowd sing along to a song I wrote, it was a ballad which I normally step down from the drums and join in having a sing song but on this occasion I could hold the mic to the crowd and feel like a god, I still cant explain how amazing that felt, it nearly brought a tear to my eye
2. I always thought tab was more of a simplified guidline rather than it giving you all the bells and whistles like time signitures, rhythm patterns, keys etc.
3. Hey im going to have a word with my folks to see if they can lend me the rest of the money till pay day so hopefully il get back to you soon
4. Hi I have a mint condition Mapex bass drum pedal and a Sabian Pro Sonix 20" ride cymbal. The Mapex pedal is in mint condition and has only been used about 3 times. The Sabian has seen better days but is free from chips, cracks and dents, it has a very clean crisp sound which isnt to my liking (im a zildjian man myself). I would like £30 (plus postage) for the pedal and £30 for the cymbal. Unfortunately due to its size, cost to post and lack of time im not prepared to post the cymbal BUT I am willing to post the pedal. I have some pictures here if you would like to have a butchers http://s1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc370/leezo6669/?previewTheme=114&previewCancelUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fs1208.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fcc370%2Fleezo6669%2F&offer=y
5. I had an Adam Black Apollo for a few years and it was fantastic i really loved it but sold it in a moment of weakness after being booted from a band. My only issue is that the Apollo weighed a ton and broke the straps of 2 very good gig bags, about 12 straps (including leather ones) and one shoulder, I dont know if the weight issue applies with the titan but i would keep it in mind if you try it out.
6. I found one review some one scanned from a magazine which was a good one. I think im going to get it next year and hope for the best
7. Hey every one, so I was casually torturing myself looking at pretty basses I cant afford and stumbled across this beauty http://www.gak.co.uk...arl-white/30629 and immediately fell in love. has any one had any experiences with Kramer basses? Ive only ever seen their guitars from videos from the 80's and to be honest I thought they finished in the 80's aswell so I was a bit shocked when I seen it.
8. I had a double whammy in one night. I got off the bus and had to go down some concrete steps to go onto the street where the venue was, I was using an Adam Black Apollo Custom at that point and if any of you have tried one you will know it weighs about the same as a block of flats so of course it breaks the straps of my gig bag and goes flying down about 6 steps (I about sh*t myself and everything went in slow motion). Luckily it wasn't hurt but whilest on stage trying to get the crowd involved and clap along my lovely leather strap snapped and sent my bass fling head first towards the stage at maximum velocity, but still nothing was broken but I didnt get to have my Bon Jovi moment that night, I just felt like a complete anus
9. Oh yeah it is an active isnt it, what a plonker Il check out the EMG Select cheers for help
10. Hey every one im building/restoring my first ever bass and have got a couple of questions which I couldnt find the answers to on google. Question 1: The bass has a P/J Pickup set, does this mean i have to buy P/J specific pickup sets or can i mix and match e.g EMG Precision Pickups and a Fender jazz bridge pickup? Question 2: If the answer to question 1 is yes I can mix and match then has any one got any experience with these http://www.gak.co.uk/en/emg-p-set-p-bass-replacement/1883 (sorry the link button isnt working) and do you think they would work well with a Fender Jazz bridge pick up and fretless neck? Any help would be greatly appreciated
11. I think the bass line to ''Say You'll Haunt Me'' by Stone Sour is a good example of how you don't have to stick to chugging on root notes in modern mainstream music
12. I love my epi blackbird which if you read 99% of any comments and reviews of it it seems to be the satan of all basses lol I had a bash on a couple of new gibson ones the other day and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor they were just completley gorgeous, I would love to get one but I dont think I could justify forking out that much money for a bass that only really feels a little bit better than the one I already have. Top tip for any one that does buy a tbird shaped bass: Get a case with it, they are sooooo hard to track down with out having to pay crazy money for a custom case!
13. I used this as my inspiration, i didnt bother with cutting out little holes for the cables or raising it up higher i just cut the shelf down to size so that it will fit into a large messenger bag and drilled in some rubber feet in the corners to stop it from moving. I got a can of spray paint from wilkos to make it look pretty and some velcro from a local craft shop which is doing a great job. i got some pictures on here of it if any one wants to have a gander.
14. In my old band that i used to play drums in I used to play Bite The Bullet by Machine Head as my sound check which is good because it uses all the kit and looks flash When we had a group sound check to check the mix we used to play one of our most lively and explosive songs which we found made the audience stick around and wait for you, where as normally people watch the band they came to see and then bugger off which always happens to be the 1st or 2nd band on the bill. For bass I find that the super mario brothers theme goes down a treat.
