1. Hopefully a quick query for anyone who plays a 4-string BEAD. Are there any 'off-the-peg' BEAD sets available? Otherwise, does a heavy guage EADG set do the trick? Or, does anyone know of any vendors that offer custom string guage combinations? So if I wanted a set of 65-85-105-125, they would put one of each in a bag and post them to me. A bit of context: I have a Jazz strung EADG and an Ibanez that I want to string BEAD, and really want to avoid buying 5-string sets so I don't end up with loads of duplicate B and G strings... (keep it clean please).
2. Thanks, indeed it is a bit slow. Perhaps I should have added a ; ) after the last post though. No ill will intended to other sellers/buyers, reading it back it was a bit of a gripe! Of course I can't expect basschat to guarantee me a buyer for my gear, and it is a great site.
3. What are you looking for trade-wise?
4. A couple of nibbles but it appears not a lot is moving here at the moment, or else just not for people looking at my stuff. That Hartke pedal is a bargain though. If only I had the cash. By the way I'll consider trades: ensemble-y chorus pedals, vibe-y effects, distortion/fuzz (bass big muff, xxl)... hit me. Damn it basschat don't let me down, or I'll have to ebay. And who wants that? No-one, that's who. Same as who wants to buy my GT-6B. If that other one goes before mine I'll be well p!$$ed, Gator case or no.
5. Bump for another pedal for sale.
6. Still available. Also added a new item.
7.
I assume this went on ebay?
Well, I had the selling form ready, but in reciting all of the things you can do with it and the prospect of ebay and paypal fees I delayed selling it to have one more go. However practicality must triumph as I have a new arrival due soon and too little space, so it will probably go on before long.
8.
Lol Could be a request
BUMP - You got your wish
9.
bump for price drop
Is that a request or an executive decision?
10. Bump - no love for the multi-fx?
11. Simple, GT-6B for sale. Has loads of Boss effects, tap tempo for delay and modulation, expression pedalable everything. Good working order, a few scratches but structurally and functionally fine. Included in the sale are the manual, the power supply, and a soft case from Thomann which is a bit tatty but does the job. SOLD Either collection from Berkshire/Surrey area or can meet anywhere around Woking, Guildford, Bracknell, Reading, Camberley or places nearby. Now also for sale: Bass modded CS-3. Full body bass mod. Very effective for sustain and compression (of course) for both bass and guitar, with good tone as well, it's just not for me. TRADED. EHX Small Clone Chorus. You know what it does. Boxed. £35 posted to you. SOLD on Ebay Pics on request.
12. thatgrantboy bought a pickguard, paid promptly, and didn't complain when it was a bit late! Thanks Andy

14.
Why not buy a blend pedal? They seem like useful things to have in terms of bass effects generally, plus you can use any distortion you like with the option of blending it for bass. Edit: - And a bass player with some great distortion sounds IMO is Caleb from Cave In. I believe he uses a Rat and a Fulltone Fulldrive which are both primarily guitar pedals.
Certainly I have considered getting an LS-2 or something that does a similar job, but I don't have a lot of space on the board. And the Cave In bass tone is brilliant I agree. I get something (to my ears) not too far away using the Bad Monkey - is the fulldrive also a TS-type od?
15.
Digitech Bad Monkey - a dirt cheap tubescreamer clone that works very well on bass.
Thanks - that's what I use at the moment actually! It does work well, although I do notice quite a bit of tonal 'compression' as if the bottom and top ends of the signal are attenuated - I suppose that is the mid hump - but its what prompted a look for a blendable od.
You'll probably want something that has band-pass and low-pass outputs. I would look at Q-Trons.
Also tried! The action of the filter is a bit too quacky for me and I didn't really get on with it. However the Enigma/Riddle looks a lot more tweakable, and although they say they are voiced for guitar or bass they also have different modes - they must be useable on both instruments?
16. Hi there BassChatters, Similar to another current thread but adding to it in some way I hope, I have a question that I hope a few others have tackled and can offer advice on. I am a bass player branching out into guitar (apologies) and with limited budget and pedal board space find myself needing/wanting to share my pedal board between the two. At the moment I feel I have most of my needs (compression, chorus, trem and delay) pretty much sorted. The questions I have now surround the overdrive/fuzz, and the possible addition of a filter/auto wah. In particular: - Can anyone recommend an overdrive which produces successful results with both bass and guitar, and which incorporates a blend or mix control to add dry signal to the effected signal? - Similarly, does anyone know of a filter/wah device that gives good results and is not specifically voiced for either guitar or bass? So far I can only think of the Boss AW3 and FX25 at the lower end of the market (which is incidentally where I'm looking, it's probably only an occasional/fun effect at best). Yours sincerely, in anticipation of much sage advice, ®Andy(mussel)

18. Just received a CS-3 from BassZilla - smooth transaction, quick delivery, kept in touch. Very nice thanks. Andy
19. Another recommendation for ryan, quick payment for my dod chorus, hope you enjoy it. Andy
20. Likewise to the above, bought an eq boost from me so ought to have a good tone by now. Andy
21. Hi all, for sale is a DHA unit with three band eq including mid-q knob, and serious amounts of clean boost. Bought on here last year. As its DHA quality is assured. Made Jan 2010, I'm not really using it for bass (works just as well on guitar) so I'll move it on to fund my next GAS-hit. Any questions give me a shout. £35 posted, or try me for a trade. Second is the DOD FX62 Bass Stereo Chorus. Very nice. As its an old DOD, the battery compartment cover has come off, as is par for the course. However the battery socket still works, as does the mini jack-style power socket. £20 posted. Paypal is fine for either or both.
22. If you take a minute to consider the lifetime string warranty, then he may have a point: Buy it now = £27 500 Minus the value of the bass, say £450 to be generous = £27 050 Divided by the price of a nice set of strings, say £30 = call it 900 sets Say I change them every three months: 900/3 is 300 months of string changes, or 25 years worth of strings. If you're playing the bass for longer than this then you're quids in - every set of strings after the first 25 years is pure profit. Or, if you take a chance on the auction you could make your money back in less than 20!
23. This looks a little pricey to me. Leaning on the zero key perhaps?
24. What sort of power adapter does this take - is it the jack style or the boss style?
