1. Ebay Fee Calculator I've never used one so don't know how accurate they are. There are others available for ebay and Paypal calculations.
2. http://www.touchstonetonewoods.co.uk/ These treated me really well when I was buying machine heads.
3. In decent nick for their age. Smooth action. The close-up shows the one noteworthy blemish on them; it's a light scratch with some white stuff in that makes it look worse than it is. I've not tried to clean them up as, if someone's putting them on a reliced bass, they'd look better as they are ...maybe. Let me know if you want any more pictures, information and/or dimensions. £35 ono, delivered. (£30 collected from Victoria Park, Manchester)

6.
Throw it about it, drop it,

...no one will ever know she aint original.
Apart from the fact that you're on stage throwin' it about, droppin' it. :S
...she sounds better than my original Fender P bass
Why aren't you selling your Fender P, then?! :S
7. Hi, guys. I bought this a while back with a view to powering my home hi-fi system. The amp sounded fantastic. Unfortunately, it's fan-cooled which wasn't a problem when my PC was on, as the PC fan is louder than that of the amp, but at low volumes, with my PC off, it's intrusive. Given that most of my listening is of the late-night variety, it's not suitable for me. (You'll notice I used past-tense in that sentence...) I tried to remedy the situation by installing a quiet fan but must have done something wrong as the amp now doesn't work. I got onto Turbosound who said that the heatsink may be damaged. Then, as now, I didn't have time to look into it and it's just taking up space. I'll get pictures up soon. T1000 Specs £100 delivered but I'll consider offers.
8. I'd found Touchstone before I saw your link, TG; in fact, I came back to post about them. Considerably cheaper than the usual suspects and brilliant service. Highly recommended.
9. I think the question - to those who say lighter is good/just as good/better - is: would your opinion change if you had someone to cart your gear around for you? That is, a little robot appeared every time you needed to move it and did it for you. Personally, I don't get involved in the debate: my ears are my ears and I hear things differently to everyone else.
10. Anyone want to buy my Brough Superior SS? It's not all original, however: the engine's been replaced by a 1.9 diesel (as made by Citroen). Oh, and the top bit (above the wheels) has been replaced by what appears to be a Citroen body. Oh, also, the spoked wheels have been replaced by non-spoked wheels. 4 of em. And it says Citroen on the log book. And ya need a car licence to ride it. And by 'ride', I mean drive. Other than that, it's a genuine Brough Superior. (Except for the CD player, which is aftermarket, of course) :S
11. Hi, guys. I'm having a new neck made and am considering getting new machine heads, rather than reuse the old ones: other than aesthetics, what do I need to consider? Do the different-sized posts make any difference to anything? (I'm thinking of these: http://bass-machine-heads.com/hp135296/Art...f5571ee3bXY16e5 - where's the best place to buy 'em?) Cheers, Neill
12. Would the 2 parties be happy with a 3rd person going round to collect either cash or amp, have the other person send what's due and then forward the outstanding item? eg. someone takes money from Geester, tells Oldman to send amps. Amps arrive, Geester is happy with them. Cash gets sent to Oldman. Or vice versa.
13. Elites Stadium series, cut for a P/J. I don't know the gauge as they were on the bass when I bought it; they appear to be standard (45-105) but could be medium (40-100). If there's a way to tell, let me know. There's some discolouration where they go through the bridge but it's superficial; otherwise, they look to have had very little use. If you require pics, let me know your email address. £8 posted. Cheers, Neill
14. Can BC not acquire the information somehow to be archived here?
15. Sorry for the OT, but that thread (linked to above) is fantastic. I got that Z was the odd-one out but I didn't guess as to which bass it was. As it happens, it was the sound I liked least, too. It also supports what a luthier recently said to me when I went to see him about a custom neck: that the wood doesn't matter. Which is good as now I can get the looks *and* the tone I want.
16. You could try wearing gloves, as someone on here does (albeit for different reasons).
17. No-one knows what a real one looks like!!
18. I hope this doesn't take the thread too off-topic, but The Bass Gallery have a Trace V4 combo in. http://www.thebassgallery.com/product_deta...mbination%20Amp I'm not the seller/affiliated, etc, it's just a heads-up.
19. Hope no-one minds me bumping this so soon; hoping to get them sold before Monday. Will probably bump it a few times today and a few tomorrow. If the mods (or anyone else) feels it to be too much, just lemme know.
