1. Hmmm.... for many: Point = Missed As far as I can see, we were just commenting on the video as presented. Noone ever challenged/criticised/insulted Nigel's recorded or live career output.
 2.
I can't watch this as I'm at work, but I imagine I've seen this video already. Couple of things; firstly, he is endorsed by Rotosound to the point that he has been asked to demo their gear. Hands up who on here has been asked to demo anything? I'm not saying that if you haven't been asked to do so that you don't have the right to say anything negative, but lets put it into perspective here folks. Moreover, he's been asked to demonstrate what is possible with their gear. I think that whatever fretbroad w*nkery is used is therefore a pretty good advert!
If a clicking noise is a true demonstration of what is pssible with their gear.... yikes!
Secondly, do you think that having watched under 10 minutes of Nigel's demo playing time (I assume it's under 10 minutes), that you are qualified to judge, or even in a position to consider this as the sum total of his playing ability? I hope that you do not.
I don't believe anyone ever said that. They were commenting on THIS video specifically....
 3.
I wonder if amateur pilots visit discussion forums and slag off the Red Arrows for all that stupid aerial acrobatics and coloured smoke nonsense when they should be giving a solid demonstration of flying from A to B?
Bad analogy IMHO.... The Red Arrows are still giving a solid flying demonstration, just with added tricks. All I saw on that video was clickety-clack tricks with barely an audible bass note, melody or solid line underpinning it....
 4. Nice tight growling low end on those Chi's!
 5. Urghhhhh! IMHO That really was horrendous.... clickety clickety click.... low 'E'....clackety clackety clack clack clack... low 'E'.... clickety clickety clack etc What's the point? Not a groove, a melody or a bassline in sight... Didn't make me laugh, but certainly made me sigh and shake my head... that was the sort of thing that must be the bane of any music store owners life...!
 6. Amp Boosted high mids Push the pre-amp Speakers Preferably 10's or 12's Bass Low action Dig in Pick around the bridge pickup Pedal Get a Sansamp BDDI or similar and set to SVT or similar
 7. I LURVE the Dan!!! Favourite album is The Royal Scam followed by everything featuring Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter on their first few albums... They were a little sterile at times, but their wit and innovation more than made up for it.... For me they were part of my favourite era for rock music.... when arrangements, musicality and thought went into song construction.... Give me Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Chicago, Ambrosia, Allman Bros etc over anything of recent times....
 8. +1 on them doing one with a maple neck..... Very interested in trying one of these though regardless! Congrats on a lovely bass
 9. Very nice..... I'll have the purple quilt one and the black one please....
 10. I have the Duff McKagan style original model with a black coated neck.... I know there was also a later one with a natural neck.... and also a 'Power' Jazz Bass Special which was active....
 11. Let me know if you ever let this go.... I'd give you the £300 for it... I used to have the cheaper XK4 and it was a great sounding bass....only sold it in order to part finance one of my Spectors....
 12. Me love my Rebop too
 13. Looks like a great day had by all... shame I couldn't make it Who's was the white Pedulla? That looks lovely....

 16. Not a fan of the paint job.... but I bet it sounds monsta!!
 17.
Kiss and Madness - now there's an unexpected combination!
Ah yes, it's a great way to keep my chops up..... a bit of rock... then a bit of ska.... then with the function band some Motown/Stax, disco, lounge, pop etc!
 18.
Not a big Kiss fan but I must catch your next show at The Diamond just to say hello Gary...
Please do! We're back there on 7th Feb 2009. Would be great to see you

 20.
What Id like to know is what does the missus say? Mine goes apesh*t about me having 5! She hates bass gear. Still, that's probably as much to do with me as the gear; just another thing to give me grief about!
Mine knew I was a musician when she married me.... my passion for my instrument was one of the things that attracted her.... therefore she knew what to expect. She is a musician herself (piano, clarinet, guitar & sax) so she also appreciates well made, good sounding instruments. I wouldn't be with anyone who didn't appreciate music or support me in my musical endeavours....
 21.
Thanks for swapping the necks on this - you probably just saved me £400! Jon.
+1
 22.
PJ seems like a great guy, I know he has given a lot of help and support to the Spector owners over at TB, inculding getting hold of some very limited edition models for them! Despite being a Spector player, I've never emailed him though. I might send him an email just to say that I think Spector basses are bloody brilliant!
PJ and Stuart live by the mantra of 'Customer Service'. In my 26 years of bass playing I have never received better service than I do from them...
 23.
Me in the background a bit:
Nice singer..... grrrr..... Oh, and nice Spector!
 24. I always remove my wedding ring when playing with the KISS tribute band..... otherwise I get fake blood & paraffin under it (which can be sore)... and it prevents me doing lots of @gene-like' bass slides... As an aside, it'd look pretty silly wearing a wedding ring as 'Gene SImmons' - especially when he has been happily unmarried for so long! lol!
