1. I saw that bass on eBay & if I'd had some spare cash I would have bid myself! Great purchase, congrats!
2.
I actually bought a Landmark 300 off Cetera when he got his Landmark 600 1/ They sound amazing 2/ Very versatile, although I also struggled to get a totally clean sound possible only available on one channel with the 'blend' off, not sure now. 3/ Slightly underpowered 4/ Did I say they sound amazing !? If you can get one for the right price I'd give it a go, although you would need to run it at 4 ohms to get the full 300 watts Ade
Yep, +1 to all that Ade.... The really great thing about this rig is that you can combine the 2 separate channels (BDDI & RPM) to create your own tones as well.... e.g clean low end on one, overdriven top end on the other...! I guess that's the main advantage over the RBI with the Hartke, but either choice would be great!
3.
Not sure if you mean the whole rig but if you do, you're looking at about £1600-1700 new if you have the footswitch for the head (as I do) and about £600 for the cab on it's own. I bought what you see in the photo used in mint condition for about a grand. Money very well spent. By the way, the head runs at 2 ohms and I'm so tempted to hear what it would sound like with a second 2x12 - now that would be a proper rig.
Yep, I'd love to add a second one to my rig and get the Shuttle 12.0 myself!
4.
Cetera's old one - best full-range cab ever IMO, happy doing modern hi-fi or old school thump, and can bi-amp it too. Even fits cross-wise in the boot of my Modeo estate without putting the seats down, but pretty sure a solid month of gigging with it thru December gave me elbow tendonitis!
Ah! Glad you're still enjoying it! I wouldn't have got rid of it if I didn't already have my Mesa 2x15 Diesel!! It just wasn't getting used.... Yep, the older Disel cabs were the black tolex ones with the old style logo & black grill. Roadready Diesel were the same, just encased in a metal flightcase
5. Great news about a great band!! Saw every London show they ever did.... inclusing the Marquee, Hammy O & The Forum. Can't see this reunion making it as far as a European tour though.... Billy & Eric can't stand each other so it must be the cash (& the love of their crazy Japanese fans) that has made this possible...
6. Hope you feel better soon mate!
7. Received EMG P/J pickup set from this chap! Pleasure to do business with & recommended!
8. Stunning bass! Wow! Good luck with the sale...
9.
I may be mistaking this with another spector but isn't this ridiculously cheap?!
This is a very good price... but it is from their 'entry level' range... Nowt 'entry level' about the quality of this bass though...
10. Have a free bump for a great bass!
11. Have a free bump for a superb bass!
12. Lovely bass..... my first 'decent' bass was an Aria CSB380 in cherry.... miss it actually!
13. That's great to hear that it's kept in the Basschat family! Traded for a Sadowsky.... a fair trade if ever there was one... congrats to you both!
14.
Charming! Ok then... I won't.
That's me out of the running as well then....

16.
My tip - buy a Sansamp BDDI
Agreed, buy anything powerful (SVT3, GK etc) with plenty of head room... then put a BDDI in front of it. Or.... check out a second hand Tech 21 Landmark 300 or 600 Head....
17. Spector ReBop...
18. I would have loved to go see them but unable to make it.... GREAT band... saw them many times around the Gretchen period...
19. A friend of mine at work has the following for sale: A lefty 'Shergold Marathon Stereo' Bass in black with maple neck/board. Apparently, he bought it off of a mate of his in 1982 and believes it was previously bought new in 1979/80. Condition is good 'used' with light player wear and the normal finish checking found on Shergolds. Bass comes with a soft gig bag. He's looking for £250 (collection from London)
20. ....and a Spector-copy brass bridge!
21. Cheers chaps.... I'll advise him accordingly
22.
Here's mine:
That's a beauty!!!
23. A friend of mine has a black Shergold Marathon Stereo bass in very good player condition. It has a maple board and twin outputs and is a lefty... Does anyone know a ballpark value/figure as he may be interested in selling if it's worth it... Cheers!
24.
Who buys these signature guitars anyway?
Many thousands of people.... look at the popularity of the Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee, Bob Glaub, etc etc.... Even Nick Seymour of Crowded House plays a Geddy.... A good guitar/bass is a good instrument regardless of whether there's a signature on it. My Geddy and Jackson 'Kip Winger' basses are excellent quality, very playable and cool sounding basses that do what I want them to....
