1. Cheers chaps, yep - Chunky was the engineer. Lovely bloke... We had a great night... over 400 in! Not bad for a first visit Nightmare afterwards though, had to wait until club closed (4am) before we could load out... only to find & argument happening & some poor blooke being punched into the side of our van... and then being KICKED hard in the head multiple times.... Not the nicest memory to take away from Birkenhead... Our first time in Belfast on Saturday night was splendid too! Great city, nice people and successful enough for us to return at the end of the year/start of 2010. Back of the net!!!
 2.
I take it you have your own sound guy? I know the house engineer, nice chap.
Nope, we're using the house engineer.... hope he's good!
 3.
Don't forget to pack your ear defenders mate. You WILL need them at the very least for the pre and post set sounds!!!!
Yikes! That loud eh?!?
 4.
Hey, what time are you on at the Hotel California? Got a band practice but I'm only 10 minutes away...
It's a late one.... doors 10pm... and we're on from 11.30pm - 1.30am.... Hope to see you there! Apparently they're going for a glam 'theme' so feel free to dress up in your best stack heels, flares & glitter
 5.
ooooo, Looks like a good excuse for a Norwegian BC meet. I know there's at least 4 of us lurking about here... anyone interested? coincidentaly I nearly got to meet Eric Singer last month, his band were playing at Jevnaker and I was called in to help with marshaling the gig. Unfortunately he'd buggered off before we'd finished kicking the punters out.
Hey SteveO, would be great to meet you.... Shame you didn't meet Eric, but then he's been a grumpy old bastard each time I've met him so you're not missing much! lol!
 6.
I have just gone from "No Spectors" to two in the last month! I found my first acquisition, a Black Cherry ReBop 5 very easy to get the best tone from. It is more in line with my Wal and my other active bass setups, with B-T-P-V configuration. I loved it so much I bought a Euro 5, (again in Black cherry - I've a thing about purple!!) which is absolutely amazing to play, but I am really struggling with the tone. I've been playing for 30 years, and would not consider myself an "all on 10" man, but I cannot yet find a sound that is as subtle as the ReBop or my Wal. Would it be a stupid idea to swap the pre-amps (no not the Wal's!!), as the GAS fund is now completely depleted. or has anyone got something to trade that might help me?
You could always swap out the active EMG's for passive EMG-Hz soapbars (as in your ReBop)....
 7. Love my fretless Pedulla! Almost up there with my fretless Wal.... Have a bump for a gorgeous bass!
 8.
I've done many shows at the Hotel California with Pynk Floid and I would think the venue is pretty much tailor-made for you. Enjoy!!
That's good to know! Cheers matey We've just got a replacement gig in Cardiff as well (now The Point has closed...) We're at The Globe (The Globe) on Fri 20th November!
 9. I'll have a 'Large' unless they're skinny tees.... in which case I'll have an X-Large!
 10.
Then check out the price... That's a world away from the Schecter! For that sort of money, Overwater could probably do you one at 38" scale.
Nobody pays RRP though..... and in this case you get what you pay for....
 11. Spector do the Euro in a 35". Check out the Euro4LX-EX....
 12. Beautiful bass choices Al! And the same goes for the rig..... I'd love to hear that GBE750....
 13. Birkenhead & Belfast this weekend! First visit to both.... hope to see GreenKing & Steve Soar at Birkenhead & Acid Bass at Belfast!
 14. Try the Basses For Sale section....
 15.
isn't the blue the colour of the live after death tour bass?
Yes, but it was used on tours before & after that as well...
 16. You might want to put this in the Basses For Sale section....
 17.
My latest rig, now fully racked and complete (for now atleast). Usually have the wireless in the chain. AKG wireless > Presonus Compressor > Tech 21 Amp (tuner out > Korg DTR1000) >AlienAudio 1x15.
Nice amp choice!
 18. LOVELY combination, that...!
 19.
The Point in Cardiff is closing? Is that for good or temp? That is a great rock venue, but it sure gets bloody warm in there.
Check the thread on The Point in Off Topic.... It's for good...... but the owners are trying to sort some sort of 'rescue package'
 20. Tech21 Landmark 600.... It has two dedicated preamps (BDDI & RPM) which can be run seperately or combined for thunderous tones (e.g. run the RPM clear and deep for the low end... and run the BDDI grinding and cutting for the high end). Take your choice of cab after that.... though my preference would be for a Mesa Diesel 2x15, Bergantino 610 or 215....
 21.
£400 for an 87 JBS is a bargain! - I'll even put money on them being better than the new McKagan basses. Lovin the CIJ ;o)
+1 These Jap JB Specials are much better than the recent Mex Duff McKagan reissues.... Have a free bump for a great bass!
 22.
I think Girls Aloud are better than The Spice Girls.
+1
 23.
f***ing Radiohead. Now they are sh*t.
Everything they've done since The Bends has been....
 24.
I might be free to pop into Camberley. I presume all basschatters will be on the guest list and get a free Jack 'n Coke on entry?
Err..... hmmm.....
