3. Lovely purchase! I've always fancied one of these..... great tone!
4. In my KISS tribute.... lycra, make-up, studded codpiece, batwings, a long wiggly tongue (of my own), firebreathing, blood spitting, crotch-thrusting, an 'Axe' bass and seven inch monster-headed stack heels!! lol! In the Madness tribute.... suit and fez... or boiler suit and fez!
5.
rumour is we may have a booking for £2.5k for our six piece.........again trying hard to convince the wife! what is with em eh!, hell i'd give her all the dosh in the end, but its, "well its family and friends time" u get the drift and i guess some of u have heard it all, how do i react?
Family and friends time? 6. James William Guercio..... sometime bassist with the Beach Boys and legendary Producer of: Chicago Blood, Sweat & Tears Carl Wilson From Wikipedia: Guercio was the founder of Caribou Ranch, a popular recording studio in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. The first true radio hit recorded at Caribou was Joe Walsh's "Rocky Mountain Way". In addition to Chicago (starting with Chicago VI), the studio has been used by numerous other artists: Elton John (for his Caribou album as well as "Captain Fantastic" and "Rock of the Westies"), Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Carole King, Stephen Stills, Waylon Jennings and Supertramp
7. Have another bump for my fabulous old cab!
8. Mmmm.... looks interesting, any news on when/how much this will be?
9.
I've seen ads for .......... and axes (the chopping, pillaging kind, single and double headed for maximum 'slaying' power). What the hell is that all about? Strangely enough though, I've never seen any such basses in guitar shops. Where do they all go?
Into my collection....! lol!
10. Off the top of my head.... Behringer…. Say no more… MusicMan Bongo…. Ugly beyond belief Markbass colour scheme…. It’s soooooo wrong! Warwick Katana….. see Bongo Bartolini Pickups…. Bland… 6+ string ‘basses’….. just get a guitar, once you play that high it’s called ‘treble’! Trace Elliot…. Used to like it, then realised it has no richness of ‘tone’ Relic’ed basses….. why?? Just why?!? People who think constantly ‘slapping’ makes them a good bassist…. Bassists who constantly play 'chops'..... just 'lock in' sometimes ferfuksake!
11.
This is me with the new Sandberg and colourful strides........................
Nige... you ROCK!!! As do your strides AND your lovely 70's Jazz-alike Sandberg!

16. 17.
Flea never played a MM on record apart from when using a 5....I think for BSSM he used a Spector?
Not sure which album but he definitely used a Spector NS2 on one or two of the earlier releases....
18. Luckily, there's very little out there that takes my fancy! Having said that.... I wouldn't kick the following out of bed for eating biscuits: Gafbass's white 70's Jazz reissue (so I'm putting together my own!) Bassplace's white Wal Doctorofthebass's sunburst Spector NS2 Jensenmann's blueburst Spector NS2 If anyone has a Wal Mk1 'Geddy Lee' in black or a Mouradian I'd add them to the list too...
19.
Firstly, I would much rather have one volume control, and one pick up mix control. This to be instead of the current seperate volume knobs, one for each PUP. Can I just get a guitar tech to sort this, or is it something best done by a Spector Specialist? Secondly, I get a very different sound from the low B string than the E. I'm not used to having a low B, so is this normal? It sounds more muffled, where as the E is like the other strings on this bass, very crisp. NB: This bass is amazing. I was a bit concerned that I was getting sucked in to a mass neurosis on Spectors, but I have to say, the popularity for Spectors is in my mind, well founded. Alas poor Warwick!
1) The wiring change shouldn't be a problem. Just take it to a reputable tech.... it should be quite straightforward. 2) Sounds like your B string may be a little dead. Could be a duff string in a set.... Change all your strings and try again. 3) Welcome to SpectorWorld!
20.
sorry, slightly OT: I just realized how many Spector models are out there right now (yes, I´m a disinformed old fart). Could someone enlighten me where they all do differ? I have an older one from end 80s or early 90s, serial # is 1289. What are these called? NS4 or did they have a different name? Here´s a picture:
That is a Kramer era Spector NS2. A VERY nice bass you have there.... Let me know if you ever wish to part with it!
21. Aaaaarghhh!!! You put a thumb rest on it!!!! Have a bump for a (nevertheless) great bass.....
22. I love my SVT3 and it roars through a good 4ohm cab with no lack of power.... Through my Mesa Diesel 2x15 it shakes the room before it even gets to half volume!
23. ....and again.... THANK YOU all, it takes two to make a clean, easy deal & you've all played your parts! (pun)
