1. I've never had a problem with it either
2. I have the RPM and an RBI - both fantastic pre-amps.... and you really do ONLY need a good PA power amp and you're sorted!
3. Well, here's the info - straight from their wonderful Artist Relations man PJ.... weird they didn't realise this.... and it puts a WHOLE new slant on the Tonepump! "Hello again - thanks for sending me the link. After reviewing all of this, of course the person who designed our TonePump circuit is accurate...so...I need to work with our new web designer and include the proper TonePump / TonePump Jr. info! Sounds like we misinterpreted his info almost 10 years ago while working on this with him. Thanks again, PJ Also please send my regards to everybody at Bass Chat UK!!! "
4.
Quick question. What are the differently shaped Les Paul guitars. A Dean perhaps?
The white one is a new Washburn Preacher 'Paul Stanley' model.....and the sunburst one is an earlier Silvertone version of the same Paul Stanley design (one of only a limited number that made it off the production line before he shifed his endorsement to Washburn....)
5. Hmmm....Interesting stuff. I've asked Spector for clarification & will post their reply as soon as I hear back...
6. Great band! Looking forward to seeing them at the High Voltage Festival in a few weeks time!
7.
Players like Nathan Watts have been in the game long enough to realise that although good gear matters, it's whatever needs the least maintenance on the road and what sounds adequate to get along with! People with his level of credibility don't need to deal with guys on online forums claiming to be experts on drivers, whereas given half the chance all those 'speaker experts' would probably jump at the chance to be Stevie Wonder's bass player and MD.
+2
8.
yhp its the bossa, havnt seen the alleva in ages which is a shame because its gorgeous! Dont know what the fretless he has was though :S
I believe the fretless was a Japanese-made 'Crews Maniac'....
9.
What would you ask for it? I bought it from a chap on here, YouMa (Mark) and it is exactly the same condition. Should we say £650
As you paid only £560 for it, maybe that or less would be the right price to ask?
10.
Ah right oh. Rhere's a fretless that shape that turns up at jam sessions round here. I'll have a closer look next time and see if its a Spector..
If it is... try & get a picture - would love to see it
11.
Wow! What's the big bum one of the far right of that picture?
A very early (1976/77) Spector SB1 bass. One of the first Spectors ever made
12. Nice pics bluesparky! Sorry, haven't read this thread since I last posted so didn't see that you'd be there on the main stage. I was working Artist Liaison for PRS - would have said "Hi!" if I'd known....
13.
I loved it,despite the odd 'moment'. Nate appeared to be using a couple of Hartke LH amps, with Hartke Hydrive 1x15 and 4x10 cabs. He played keys on a few including Superstition (which had Stevie on keys on the original.)
This is correct... I had stage access at Hyde Park and the above is what he was running. His tone was clear and full and could easily be heard
14. "Had a few interested PM's but nothing solid yet" -type BUMP! I'm not intending to let this go for substantially less, so if anyone's waiting for the price to keep dropping much lower before pouncing - it's not gonna happen. Check my link above for an identical bass at double my price....
15. One morning at 3am in some Service Station on the way back from a gig we met a Ginsters Rep...... We told him that we survive on their food after gigs & wondered whether we could get an endorsement.... he wasn't impressed!
16. Nice bass... Fingerboard is Rosewood though, not Ebony....
17.
The thing that always amazes me about the internet bass forums are how quickly things are hyped up, loved, then quickly forgotten, moved on, or even spoken ill of in favour of whatever the next big new thing is. In any case, I'm sure at some point 'heavy' will come back.
Yep, agreed.....it's all Markbass at the moment..... and before that it was EBS....something else will be along soon.... I still have a large early 90's EV-loaded 600W MesaBoogie 2x15. Why? Because it's solid, powerful and shakes the room with low end while still pubching tight in the mids and sparkly in the highs..... and it's hugely reliable!
18. I'll be there! I'm working backstage all 3 days
19. I can't believe this bass is still here..... An excellent bass, supreme craftmanship, stunning tones and a feel to die for.... AND an amazing price....
20. Thanks Tony, this really is a FANTASTIC fretless.... and SO smooth to play...
21. When everyone finally realises that bijou 2x8" speakers just don't reproduce the full bass grunt and shake your booty enough, everyone will be back to buying 8x10 & 2x15's like it's a whole new idea.... It's all cyclical...
22.
By the way - you can't just join PRS or MCPS because you fancy it ! You have to have published material already out there. They are collecting agencies after all, and if there is nothing to collect, they will not be interested in you !
This isn't true. You don't have to be published, you just have to have some evidence that your music is being performed live or has been licensed for a product or commercial release.... After all, there is no point joining if you aren't likely to earn any royalties. It is currently £10 to join PRS but you don't pay this, it is simply taken from your first earnt royalties....
23. Forgot to say.... Please check my feedback to be assured of a great and trustworthy buying experience: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...0&hl=cetera
24. Ah! That's the first bass I ever owned!!! Didn't have it for long as it wasn't great - got an Aria CSB360 which was a lot better
25. Thanks guys! I don't really want to sell it.... but needs be and all that.... It really is the 'creme de la creme' of fretless basses....!
