2. Can't see ebay auctions here at work... but if it's the one I think it is then I have two of these basses & I love them. He's well overpriced though...
3.
Will try and make it for the Walthamstow gig!
Lovely! Would be great to see you!
4. There are far too many great bass lines out there but some faves that come to mind immediately are: Chicago - What's This World Comin' To? (Peter Cetera) Doobie Brothers - Double Dealin' Four Flusher (Tiran Porter) Toy Matinee - Queen Of Misery (Guy Pratt) Talk Talk - It's My Life (Paul Webb ) Ian Dury & The Blockheads - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick (Norman Watt-Roy)
5. Anyone out there going to see Guy Pratt perform his 'stand-up' show "Wake Up Call" at the Leicester Square Theatre, London, tonight? If so, anyone fancy a beer beforehand as it doesn't start until 9pm...

Wanted to come to this but not sure I can make it now...
7. Ooooh! I'd like to at least test this baby out! Not sure I'd buy it though...
8.
You must be running a pretty crappy amp or working in some pretty crappy studios then! I never had any trouble with my Spector Euro. In fact, it was always a dream in the studio, with that nice hot signal it always had amazing presence and was a joy to mix because it never faded into obscurity like some basses do. And through an amp, it was always beautifully crisp and growly. It sounded as good as the Status Stealth bass I had at the time, and that is high praise indeed.
^This... +a million...
9. Bumping for our upcoming shows! Jan 28th Camberley ‘Agincourt’ 29th Crewe ‘The Box’ Feb 4th Bilston ‘Robin2’ 5th Walthamstow ‘Standard’
10. Thanks Dave! Likewise Will be great to see you at The Standard!
11. Great rock player... and by all accounts a lovely bloke too. Very sad.... RIP Phil...
12. Bought a gorgeous Spector from Dave. Lovely guy, hand delivered it and he has excellent taste in music! Thanks mate!
13.
Thanks guys for all your help and tips regarding this, I even ended up emailing Spector customer services and within 2 hours got a reply back from PJ Rubal, their vice president - how's that for customer service!
Ah, yes.... PJ... He's a legend... and Spector's customer service is second to NONE...
14.
You seem like a man who could do with one more spector. take your fancy?
Sorry mate..... I have little use for the extra 5 low notes...
15. RIP Mick and thanks for sharing your talent with us...
16.
Peter Cetera -- Absolutely amazing on Chicago's first album (way before they went to soft pop ballads)
You Sir are a man of excellent taste.... I'd go even further and say that his playing throughout the 70's was really quite something! For me in no particular order... Peter Cetera (Chicago) Tiran Porter (Doobie Brothers) David Paton (Alan Parsons / Pilot / etc etc) Dee Murray (Elton John) John Deacon (Queen) with honoury mentions for the following who have influenced/inspired me immensely: Rutger Gunnarsson (Abba) Geddy Lee (Rush) Gene Simmons (KISS) Kip Winger (Winger/Alice Cooper) Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) Dave Hope (Kansas) Joe Puerta (Ambrosia) Guy Pratt (particularly with Toy Matinee) Billy Sheehan (DLR/Mr Big) Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) Leon Wilkeson (Lynyrd Skynyrd) Paul Goddard (Atlanta Rhyhtm Section)
17.
Anyway looking at your collection is like playboy, you ought to do a calendar i must catch your show next time your north west bound!! have a great new year - lee ps- i was very much interested in your jackson kip winger it was a beauty was skint though!! i will have one
Cheers Lee! Would be great to meet you one day mate! We can then bore everyone senseless with our love of great 80's rock and the basses used! lol!
18. Crikey! Have a BUMP for an AMAZING price on a full US made Spector!!
19.
Might do that! What's the smallest venue you'd do. We did our opening show with our Slash Tribute at a Rockin venue in my home town of Bognor. We sold it out with 225 people at £5 per ticket?
It's more to do with the stage size/height clearance to ceiling really.... What size was the Bognor stage and what was the clearance from stage to ceiling?
20.
will probably bring a few mates to Walthamstow. But if you don't use one of the 'Axes' I'll be disappointed!
Great stuff! I'll do my best to bring an 'Axe' out for a song or two
21.
I was about to say the same thing. Anywhere between Hampshire, West Sussex and East Sussex would be nice. You guys should get into the Wedgewood Rooms or something.
T'would be nice but a lot of the venues either won't allow us to use pyro etc or simply don't have decent enough stages. The gig in Camberley is just off the M3 not that far from Hants The Wedgewood Rooms would be great but they only book a limited number of tributes, a year ahead and never seem to have any free dates. If you could request us direct with the venue we may have a better chance!
22. Happy New Year to everyone... and here are our dates for the first part of 2011!: Jan 28th Camberley ‘Agincourt’ 29th Crewe ‘The Box’ Feb 4th Bilston ‘Robin2’ 5th Walthamstow ‘Standard’ Mar 4th Lanark ‘Agricultural Centre’ 5th Blackburn ‘King Georges Hall’ Apr 15th Stourbridge ‘River Rooms’ May dates t.b.c. These will be our first gigs with our new drummer 'Matt Blakout' (formerly of Tigertailz etc) who will be assuming the make-up/character/playing style of 'Eric Carr' complete with large chrome drumkit! Please come along and give him lots of support!
23. Gorgeous Spector! Congrats...it won't be your last! Respect also for your Gene & Kip fandom... I too always wanted a Spector due to them (& others) and it took me a few years of buying/selling/uptrading until I got my first!
24.
He didn't play on the first Kate Bush album either. On "Wuthering Heights" it's probably David Paton.
I just found out that the album Producer 'Andrew Powell' actually wrote AND played the bass part on 'Wuthering Heights', much to David Paton's chagrin....
25. I've found that many US sellers have inbuilt 'cold feet' when it comes to int'l transactions. Sadly it seems to be part of the inbuilt mistrust that they have for all things 'foreign' or un-American... Obviously this doesn't apply to all US sellers but certainly a large number...
