SE Bass Bash 2017 - with Steve Lawson and Davey Rimmer
cetera replied to Silvia Bluejay's topic in Events
A fantastic day - so many great people and instruments/gear. I've always said that bassists are the greatest musicians to be around - No airs and graces - just nice people and this was proven tenfold on Saturday! As said before - big thanks to Nik, Colin, Ped, Mrs Hamster and all involved in organising the day and keeping it running smoothly. Big ups to Davey, Lee and Steve for their great talks too Same time next year?! -
Looks like I might be able to make it this year, if anyone wants a hand with setting up their compressor I'll be more than happy to sort you out....
You can come and explain it all to me again mate! lol! -
The solo on the single version of 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago is concise and flippin ace. Terry Kath was the shizz. The horns ain't too shabby either. Could only find the album length version on YouTube
THIS..... Terry Kath is prob the most underrated of guitarists....... he really was something else!

I've come into these amazing bass pedals but it's time to move them on to a collector or someone who will make full use of them. Original mid-70's, in amazing condition (see pics), with booklet AND still with EQ slider cover (these are often missing.broken). [s]£2600[/s] £2300 with collection from Surrey/Sussex Bank transfer, Paypal or cash on collection. NO trades, thanks.
Listening to Woodface right now. It's so good. What did he play? Was it a Spector?
Yep, he had a couple of US Spector NS2's. He was playing one when I saw him a few years back. -
Nice, Gary! If your mate Tiran happened to be in the area that day...
I'd love to get him along to be a guest speaker/do a workshop...... but we're lacking funds to fly him in from the Santa Cruz mountains -
Unusual in as much as the back of the bass appears to be flame maple when you generally get plain Alder (or is it Ash) with the veneer/sandwich models; it is more like the early Euro models that had solid Maple wings... nice!
It appears to have a black walnut sandwich line down the side though which confirms it is an LX model. Lovely bass! GLWTS
This used to be mine. It's an old European SSD which the original owner (before me) remodelled to include the dark wood mahogany inserts. A strange one that I bought cheap from him then sold on a year or two later for a similarly reduced but slightly profiting price. The next owner then sold it on again to this seller who has raised the price considerably! lol! It's an OK bass - not as good as it once was as it's been messed with and certainly not worth what the current ebay seller has it at! An oddity for sure...

Greetings! Always good to see another Spector bassist here
