1. the pick sound it lovely.. shame you're not up for a trade
 2. I can't believe i missed that!! but not surprised at that price
 3.
this should have sold ages ago, its a beaut - unfortunately the same is true of many others FS at the moment
I would've been up for it, but just bought a flat, so very cash light...
 4.
Its strange to admit that the gaps are what makes it harder to play but easier to listen to.
'it's not the notes you play but the space in between that counts' Steve Gadd I try to live by this and enjoy the space.. Loving the space guys
 5. try practising and recording yourself at home and listening back. This will help you hear the difference between how you sound live and how you sound recorded.. it's not easy. I still hate my playing. You can work on getting the sound you want
 6. I think it's a very hard to tell on recordings especially these days, after the producer has mixed, compressed, filltered, re-amped, and mastered a P bass could sound like a J or a ray could sound like a Ricky.. The same could be said for live.. I know I'm generalising a bit, but the differences become minimal.. but the player has more say in this over the instrument I'm not sure people could tell the difference between nathan east and marcus miller on the same session and they both play different basses. They only was is if the bass player is the producer or part of it
 7.
The truth is that Fender don't do Fender that well! Sadowsky et al take the basic idea / look and execute it a he'll of a lot better than the original...!
I think I'll have to disagree.. It's based on the a point of reference, it's seen a benchmark like an SM58.. People say Fender Jazz or P so people get an idea of the type of sound... I think Sadowsky sound very nice, but they are not fenders.. I wouldn't buy a Sadowsky because I want fender that's better, because it isn't. I'd buy Sadowsky because I like it or fender because I like that bass. Really Sadowsky should have made up there own name.. Funny stingrays, sterlings and Rickenbackers don't seem to have this problem
 8.
Im pretty sure you could get better cabs than the Ampeg ones for the Pro 7. Just make sure you get the latest revision of the amp, and throughly check it. They are great value, but there have been a fair few failures of the these amps...so make sure its a good one! A while back I purchased an 810E to live the dream, only to find it wasn't really that great, at all.
I think this is the problem with Ampeg.. It's the 'dream', but reality is there is much better out there now.. I used a Full Ampeg rig a few times for recordings and a some gigs and it was 'nice'.. not mind blowing
 9. clips would be great thanks.. with and without the comp
 10. I read it in the nice way... Come on, kiss and make up
 11.
Wow! Nice amp! But I guess shipping to Spain would be quite expensive, and also I'm not comfortable about shipping valve amps, last time I bought one over the mail came with the valves destroyed. Like your band by the way!
You'd have no problem with Terror bass being delivered it only has two valves
Only my humble opinion but for a nice vintagey 2x15 id stick to proper valve amps. Mine packs loads of valvey goodness from the SC head. To me the whole 'valve' thing is done by the power valves, i really dont think the hybrids (orange TB etc) are even close to real valve amps
You can't compare the AD200 to the terror bass as the price and weight have big factors in the selection of the two.. Gone are the days of lugging around heavy rig, unless I'm on a tour that I have road crew.. The full valve amps are better, I agree but my back loves me more for the hybrid.. also the terror is very well priced.. I don't get on with the TC's my other vote would be the genz after the terror or use markbass with a sansamp or simular
 12. yep, you can find it here http://basschat.co.uk/forum/19-for-sale-basses/
 13. Terror Bass.. If you like valve.. You won't be disappointed.. It's like valve without the hernia.. I would probably change the valves to some less hot one. Markbass are great, the bridge between hifi and valve... a nice neutral sound
 14. Can I ask why Ampeg.. most people choice of this cab seem to be only a 'going with the crowd'.. If you have tried them and like them go for it.. if not try barefaced super 12 or maybe two big ones.. remember is you don't like the barefaced gear you can send it back.. mind you no one ever seems to
 15. Do you think it was the new experiences or the time away from the bass that re kindled your love for bass..?
 16. I think there been a date change http://www.claphamgrand.com/Live-Music/whats-on.php?month=11 4th April 2012
 17. There's been a date change right? I hope you're still supporting LG.. he must be a great bass player Larry has my surname
 18.
Kettle leads have been called kettle leads for donkeys. I sort of like calling them kettle leads even though I've always known they don't fit kettles. Though that's probably I why I like the term. If I'd have not known that and tried to power a kettle with one in an emergency, I'm damn the phrase and chastise it's use. "Power lead" is just so non-descript and has nothing going with anyone having to drink cold cup-a-soup.
Played a concert with a friend about 7 years back. Power lead failed. Went to kitchen borrowed kettle lead and it works.. that's why it's called that by most.. These days most have the cordless.. even though they still have a cord..(don't get me started on that)
 19.
one from flight of the conchords that always cracks me up, calling the bass guitar the Dad guitar
That's a far better name. Dad guitar Da da da
 20.
Testing 1,2, Testing - anyone out there? MIKE
or they say 'yeah, yeah, yeah, No No No No No No NO No
 21.
My Mrs calls the whammy bar (or tremolo arm) a "Wahwah Lever".
That's a much cooler name though..!!
 22.
Really didn't mean to cause offence. Just trying to be honest based on my own experiences. I don't think I ever heard anyone actually challenge another musician about practicing their instrument, or studying songwriting craft. Just smiling sweetly and saying nothing whilst their fellow musicians don't develop. Ive toured and recorded with some wonderful players within the UK church scene, and most of them play outside of that scene professionally. I just feel that theirs an imaginary glass ceiling that needs to be shattered through being honest, and helping one another provide a wider and fuller "pallette", if that makes sense.? Probably doesn't....I need coffee.
Totally argee
 23. does it come with a lorry to transport it? Mind you it would be great fun
 24.
Lets keep some perspective - the promethean cab is great but it aint no barefaced/epifani/markbass, it sounds distinctly coloured and "boxy" compared to my midget-T for example (but then again you get a "free" amp and still have £100 or so change ...). Eminently usable, dont get me wrong, but think commodity rather than boutigue level sound quality at least for the cab anyway.
+1 It's great cab and very small and ticks alot of boxes.. but it ain't no midget with say a markbass/genz/terror head
