  1. Once you have Line 6 Updater installed on your mac then updating is a doddle. Just remember to back up your presets in HX Edit first so you don't lose your presets after an update.
  2. You need to have the line 6 updater installed on your mac as well as HX edit. Use HX edit to backup your current patches and then use updater to search for and install updates. You can get them here https://line6.com/software/
  3. Agreed. That's why our drummers tend to use the old metronome app. It keeps this in check to a large extent. They're not tied to the metronome as it's just a flashing red light on the screen but it means everything sets off at a comfortable pace. Of course a song may have gained a couple bpm by the end but literally only a couple. We do use tracks occasionally at smaller gigs where budget doesn't allow the full band, at which point we're tied to a click anyway.
  4. Believe me, I've worked with brilliant singers and musicians. None of them would attempt to change tempos significantly on the fly. How does a singer go about changing the song's tempo anyway? He or she would look like a total prat if they started singing slower or faster than the rest of the band were playing. Can you show us some footage of how you do this?
  5. Absolutely no problem driving the FR800. With the master volume on the helix at about 70% it's insanely loud. It's linear volume too so, unlike many bass amps, it'll continue getting louder all the way up to 100%. The cabs will protect themselves so there's no worry about damaging them.
  6. Mind blown. Really cool to have such talent on the forum. Think I need to up my daily practice time to 25hrs.
  7. Great decision. I'll never sell mine.
  8. Not sure how a singer could change the tempo without dragging or pushing in most songs (which would be pretty unprofessional) as it's very rare that he or she starts the song. I definitely don't treat being in a band like a night down the pub with my mates. It's my core income and I am md in a busy function band. We would have no issues replacing a singer that tried to change things based on his or her own judgement of what tempo is right on the night. I have been lead singer in various bands including contract bands on cruises and hotels. At present I only do bvs.
  9. My wife doesn't let me come to shops like yours anymore. Smashing selection tho.
  10. This 100% If you need to speed a song up to make it more punter friendly then you probably haven't nailed the groove properly. If a song is genuinely a bit too slow then rehearse it a bit quicker, make sure it still swings and then use a flashing metronome to play it at the speed you rehearse it at when you're gigging. We regularly use pro dep drummers and the best ones all use the visual metronome without any prompting. We have bpms on our master song list spreadsheet.
  11. Thanks Al Krow, yes I'm definitely looking and have the cash waiting. Will also take a 1025x too.
  12. That's lovely. Looks like a great spec level too. I'm at 15 and a half weeks now and not heard a peep so hoping it won't be too much longer. My last one only took 7 weeks so clearly their business is growing nicely.
  13. Saw them last night in Birmingham. Excellent show and fabulous energy all round. Love the dynamics created by the two guitarists and their telecasters. Overall the sound was good but, as is often the way, the kick drum occupied such a big space that the bass wasn't quite as audible as I (as a bass player) would have liked. That said, what I could pick out was absolutely excellent and really enhanced the song. Probably my favourite band right now alongside Rival Sons.
  14. I was a BFM authorised builder for a few years. This is an absolute steal for a cab that will outperform so many top end boxes. Discreet did a brilliant job on his build and it's worth £160 for the build thread alone - not to mention the driver that's in it. If you're looking for a compact one cab solution at a frankly silly price then look no further.
  15. Sorry, got distracted by life. Sorted now.
  16. Yes, I'd say that this one is priced to sell but it's not a silly price. Generally £1000 is about right for a new Limelight P these days.
  17. Nope. Limelight (aka Mark) build basses from non fender parts to the specs requested by the purchaser. I've had many fenders from USA / Mexico / Japan and the limelight I have has (to me) been the best of them all. That's not saying the Fenders weren't great it's just that my Limelight P just feels and sounds right to me (not entirely surprising as it was built to my preferred specs). The build quality is excellent and the relicing is nicely done. They are not definitely not Fender basses tho and a Fender logo is only applied at the request of the purchaser - they are also available with a limelight logo. Some love them but as with all reliced basses some will hate them but I've never come across another limelight owner or ex owner that didn't rate them very highly.
  18. I'm not anti roller banners but they aren't great unless the lighting on them is absolutely right. They can tend to reflect light and at that point it can be really difficult to read what's on them. For that reason I agree with Charic about going black and white. The more contrast you have the easier they'll be to read. I'm also with BRX in thinking they can look a bit cheap and they are definitely built to a price. Cheap ones are cheap for a reason and don't stand up to any kind of abuse. 2m is also not very high when you're all standing on stage in front of them.
  19. Sorry Stewblack, totally forgot to mark these as sold. Thanks Happy Jack!
  20. Working from home tomorrow so that will be the first job on my agenda.
  21. Really like the look of that. Looks like a decent case too. Great choice.
  22. The lights also reflect off the drummer's bald patch back onto the backdrop for added effect ;-)
  23. 3m x 2m Backdrop from printlitt. Two wind up speaker stands and a little bit of scaffold pole that can be disassembled in seconds to 2 x 2m lengths. Very useful for some nice led lighting too. Total outlay of under £200 (excluding lights) and easily fits in the van (transit connect).
  24. I'm just coming up to 12 weeks now and really looking forward to the day when the sofa shot email arrives. I sold my Elwood L this week and it was a real wrench but I'm happy that it's incoming replacement will be every bit as good as my old one.
