When I went from Ashdown to Genz a few years ago I knew my playing was very sloppy within a few gigs, unfortunately it still is

I have been looking at a Rebop 5 in that blue colour, its very nice to look at

I think the people that are missing the point are thinking a custom bass is a Jazz bass with a tort guard and a set of bart pickups rather than the point EBS freak is making where we are talking total one offs or items that hold a value to some people partly because of the name which could even be a dull Jazz bass that costs three times as much for no other reason than the brand. If you want Nike trainers then you want Nike trainers, a pair of Nuke ones off the market might even be better trainers but you still aint got a pair of Nike have you?

If I'm using pro gear and its been used for a few years it's already paid for itself imo, i wouldn't worry to much about future value of possible used prices as long as it's what you want at a price you are happy with.

[/quote] Yep and they dont all have the artex finish either, as Stu g says above he had a teal one, I'd track down one with a regular finish, swap the pickguard, make sure its wired in parallel (or even fit a push pull for both) and put a John East preamp in it, flat the neck off with some 1200 wet and dry, job done

If they lost all sound on stage why did they try swapping the ampeg anyway? surely that meant the loss of signal was further up the chain? I bet there was some choice words being used after the gig and he looks a big bugger dont he

I would love to know exactly what bit went sh*t shaped, I know he is a pro and all that but at what point do you just put a lead into the Ampeg or Mesa and put a Di out to the desk for FOH? I can be certain any bass would have sounded better than the no bass we had for Jesus Christ Pose and Rusty cage

Looks like using amps as monitors could be part of the problem then, what a crazy way of doing it, what are the Ampeg cabs for?
