1.
I'm sure you'll be fine! But are the rest of your band up to it??
We have a tidy drummer that can handle lead vox but he wants to sing less hence the new front person, she can belt them out no messing, Low down rock, show tunes, through to Christina Aguilera stuff etc no probs! Guitarist is good but not a shredder and just myself, that's where the rot begins
2.
Got a chart for Beat it if you want ?
I'm ok at blagging that one actually and we normally keep arrangements fairly simple, thanks though, now I'm not sure about our guitarist nailing the EVH solo!
3.
Also I load mine in with the handle pointing up and the knobs facing the inner sleeve that the footswitch fits in.
And that is pretty much how I get back out of a go kart
4. So our new young female singer has suggested a few songs to put in the set along with the ones of ours she is learning, she must have an ear for bass! So far my homework has involved learning covers played by; Tony Levin-Joan Armatrading drop the pilot (I have never heard it covered tbf) Steve Lukather- (bass on MJ Beat It) Louis Johnson- MJ Billy Jean Stuart Zender - Jamiroquai love Foolosophy Nate Watts- Stevie Wonder Master Blaster Out of five songs she has picked 4 of the worlds top players and a top guitarist playing bass! I think there will be some Pino and Sklar along all in good time, hey I need something to learn tomorrow night anyway, Lol
5. I loved my TNT, I still miss it's tone but not it's weight or lack of volume compared to something like my Genz shuttlemax9.2, I never found much volume from the later heads either 700 watts and a pair of 4x10s should be epic but I felt underwhelmed tbh. One of my bands has an early 90s Peavey PA and it's really good still, it has a service and a pat test and it's perfect for your average pub gig or marquee wedding.
6.
I put it arse-end in with the knobs point up beside the zipped end.
That's my preferred method of getting into a go kart these days!
7. There was a previous thread a while ago about them, I'm not sure, never bothered me personally but I suppose those that enjoy the dusty end but don't want a coffee table with a whale hump might enjoy these?
8. Only joking it's well nice!
9. Love foolosophy so not too bad depending on how in depth you want to go, master blaster without the five strings would be beyond me I think!
10. Really? 13 times we played there, there was a goof every time!
11.
It's not too bad - I prefer to start further up the neck if that helps at all - congrats on the singer!
Yes thanks, I sort of learnt it a bit moving around a LOT but now I've moved it all into the 5 strings across the board its getting easier, the run down is still tricky but I have got it something like....ish. The other stuff she has suggested aint exactly all right now either, Michael Jackson stuff, Jamiroquai etc I'm meant to be practicing double bass but that will have to wait for now!
12. You have witnessed most of mine live mate! Were you at The Varsity when Andy fell off the stage reaching for his beer and took the tuners off the Les Paul?
13. This thread has cursed me! We've found a new singer, she is brilliant! She has added Master Blaster to the set and I've got a week to nail it, lol
14. Congrats to you and to Wooks79, brilliant!
15.
If a black/black/maple one comes up, I'll fight you for it ;-)
Deal, lol
16. I'd still like a Big Al 5 SSS, probably in white with a maple board, they just dont appear used in any colour
17. That's mega, I love it
18. The most likely place it would end up is on a stage with a band using in ear monitors, don't tell everyone here as they think those big Ashdown amps like theirs are actually doing something other than looking pretty, if they were just for show any stage set designer could knock up a box with leds with a remote control colour change. Some prototypes to see how they sound would be the first task IMO, then iron out the weight and construction issues, a class D head and a light enough to carry cab version would be a better business proposition I think?
19. Always the way mate
20.
Which bit of " I can see your point" is confusing you ? We are both saying much the same thing. The bit about undesirables was said in jest.
Ah ok......
21. I'm just not that bothered these days, decent amp, cab (s) and a reasonable five string bass and I'm ready to gig
