I hear green is your new colour, so count me in on your purple FB4 ;)

I think the idea of this is, has the bass in the first post passed through your hands at any time.

If not, suggest someone who may have owned it (or has form for it 😂).

I would properly get my ear bent by our singer if I turned up at an 80’s gig without The Purple One.

    She’s loves it.

  3. I will definitely be ordering another one this year.

After the truss rod went on my Flea ‘61 Jazz bass, I replaced it with a Status neck.

Sometime later 🙄, Fender did actually supply me with a replacement Flea neck, so I’ve had this knocking about for a while. I’ve had a couple of ideas around what to do with it, but the more Limelight’s I see the more ideas keep popping into my head 😀.

    I've broken a string once in 44yrs

Yes, it wasn’t until I bought my second bass (decades ago) that I realised that it was the saddles on my first bass that were the issue regarding string breakages and not me. But as I said, strings breaks are not my real worry.

I carry a set of broken in strings. Ive broken a string twice in nearly 15 years...

I must admit, I’ve not had a string break on me for years and if that was all that could go wrong, I might agree.

I have had a wire disconnect from an input jack and a nut snap though. Not so easy to fix when you’re halfway through a set at a festival. If you’re happy to take the risk, good luck to you sir.

  6. Not wishing to kick off the old 'you should take a spare bass to every gig' argument again, but if you're in a gigging band, you should have something to fall back on if the unexpected occurs.

I really cannot get my head around why, if you have the means, you wouldn't do that (if you're in a gigging band).

  7. An amplifier that needs little introduction.

Lightweight, powerful and reliable. Designed by those clever Finnish chaps over in Helsinki, this amp head also includes the celebrated Darkglass pedal effects of 'Vintage Microtubes' and the 'B3K'.

In excellent condition and comes complete in it's original box with candy. Also, present is the intelligent foot switch which allows muting and changing between effects.

All the geeky numbers and blurb can be found here.

Price includes insured shipping to a UK address.

Indeed. I've been shipping basses and other items all over the world for years, but you have to admit that, in the UK, you have a very bad habit of complicating the addressee.

I mean a correct address only needs this :

    Name and Surname

    Company name, if there's one

Street (or anything that's close to this) and Number

    Zip Code and City.

There's absolutely no need for the county, the ancient county name, the big city nearby or the neighbourhood name !?!

Yes, each and every time I get an address in the UK, it's a nice game to put it the right way without all useless data you like to add. 🤨

That is not exclusive to the UK. I've had some complete nonsense addresses from most recently from Italy, but France and elsewhere as well.

You could argue that it only needs to be name/number/street/post code. City will self designate with an accurate post code.

Yeah I take your point. Some threads start off being deliberately subjective but they end up drifting into 'there are only two types of music, good and bad' blah blah. This one is about songs one might really dislike (and be entitled to do so) except for what you think is a cracker of a bassline. I'm not sure some people always read OPs properly but just pick up on a sentence and run with it. So please peeps, let's not let it turn into a 'songs I hate' thread.

It doesn’t help that the header of the thread is the opposite of what you would like it’s content to be.

’The songs pants’ is a statement which is probably even stronger than ‘songs I hate’.

’The songs pants’ according to who exactly?

Not wishing to start an argument, but if you start off with a statement like that, it’s gonna go downhill rapidly.

I will never ever use eurosender again. I used them this time over my preferred courier because I thought it would support basschat in some small way.

I'm not going into details because it will make me angry and I want to forget about it, but I have never dealt with such an inept, money-grabbing, useless and disregarding company as this in my life.

My advice is to stick with a courier you know.

I appreciate your frustration, but it doesn't actually help that much if you don't share the details.

Massive payback for your efforts Warren.  It's a cracker!

Thanks guys. It's certainly attracted a bit of positive interest (plus one knobhead who's given a thumbs down on You Tube - but you gotta take the good and bad).
