That said, I’d predict most sellers (private ones at least) ship basses with batteries installed. In all honestly, who is policing this? Do couriers, who are already strapped for time trying to keep delivery schedules, really take the time to scan each parcel to ensure there are no batteries present?

Anyway, back on topic - cool bass! And you’ve got one of the newer Dingwall cases too! Where did you order from, @artisan?

I don't think anyone is policing it, but the danger is that since the PO changed their policy to no batteries, if (and that's a big IF) the package is found to have any, particularly if its an international package, you may well find it won't arrive where it's supposed to. So basically, it's not worth the risk. If this Dingwall hasn't been out of the box since leaving the factory, that may well be why it doesn't have a battery.

I think because in his eyes, he’s posting the videos for his followers on Facebook?

It doesn't make a lot of sense to me though.

His You Tube channel hasn't been up long and it has over 11k subscribers already. I'm still not sure which of the Leland Sklar pages on FB is actually his. I'll assume it's the one with 83k.

Give it a little more time and the YT channel will be right up there. Wish he would just carry on putting them on YT.

Stunning looking bass. Active/passive Stingray? Wow. Not seen that often. I like white and gold. Cool colour combination. I am glad I haven't Basschat earlier. Otherwise I would be broke by now 😉

I cannot see this great bass to be on the market for long.

    GLWTS 👍

Precisely the reasons I bought it/exactly why I shouldn’t sell it.

I can’t put it on hold yet as no money has changed hands, but it looks like it may be spoken for.

I will update as soon as I can confirm it.

Sellers remorse is setting in already ☹️

  4. An absolutely fantastic condition Premier Dealer Network Classic Stingray IV in Gilded White complete with MM hard case.

There were only 200 of these IV string basses manufactured, so reasonably scarce.

Although it has four pots, it is the Classic 2EQ configuration. The fourth one becomes a tone pot when passive mode is selected.

The finish is lush. It looks flat white at first glance, but it is in fact sparkly (gilded). You can see it in the photo of the rear.

No trades thank you. The price includes shipping to mainland UK only.

This is a seriously nice bass that I'm trying not to put too much thought into writing about 'cos I know I'll end up pulling it if I do.

    Weight = 10lbs 5oz.

    Payment via bank transfer.

I think I read the same story. If I remember correctly, at some point the keyboard player informed him that this was going on. Tony Levin says that up until that point he’d always been quite relaxed and had never thought about it, but from then on in his pants were full every night at that spot.

Yes, that was it. You wouldn't think that sort of thing would bother him would you. Just shows you 👍

  6. I remember him saying somewhere that the crew always stood to the side of the stage to watch him when he played 'Don't Give Up' as chances are he wouldn't make it though the song without screwing it up. For anyone that's ever played it, it's one of those songs that has a riff that is played in two different places and the run up and down are slightly different. It's a bit like trying to say 'red lorry, yellow lorry' a thousand times with a mistake. He is human 😀

OK, well, that is a record for me. Three Phil Collins tracks in one day. Three more than I have listened to in the last decade! But oh what a treat. I Missed Again was a bit sloppy apparently. Ha ha ha - oh to be so sloppy. Wonderful wonderful bass line.

I really do get the impression that he’s rocking up in front of his PC (personal computer - not Phil Collins) every day not having played any of these songs since he last gigged them. Me? I would be hard pushed to remember the first couple of notes of any of the songs 😀.

I think he is a genuine soul with such a love for music, you can’t help but like him. I did have a little chuckle when he said he would rather he was quiet and the band was loud. That’s the exact opposite of what I had previously heard about him, but that’s neither here nor there.

I’m looking forward to the rest of the set.

Hey back to the guy with the beard. I noticed he often plays with just his first finger on his right hand. Today is the day I stop seeing this as a major technique defect and, whenever I see a video of myself doing it, just let it go.

    Nowt wrong with that.
