I played mine last night, the moment I plugged in I knew it was going to be a magical session. As I’ve said many times, there’s stuff I can’t play on any other bass I can play with ease on the Flea, and it sounds better than any other bass I have also

I play in an 80’s tribute and mainly use a 5’er because the songs demand it, but every song that I can play on a 4, I change to my Flea because it’s just that good.

I’m sure this bass will make it’s new owner very happy indeed.

    I sold a beloved FB4 to @hiram.k.hackenbacker - amazing bass.

If I had the cash flow and more space at home then I would have kept it for those fun moments that only a FB4/FU4 can deliver. But I have no regrets, it was a joy to have owned.

The Purple One is well and in good spirits @Chiliwailer. Hasn’t been gigged since Christmas, but now Jan/Feb are out of the way, it will be coming out of hibernation again very soon.

I've rationalised this in my own mind.

Genesis has given me a huge (and I mean HUGE) amount of pleasure since I was a kid. They're etched into my DNA.

All that enjoyment has cost me... what? A few hundred quid over the years? That's a bargain. I don't mind paying another 80 (which I appreciate is a substantial amount of money) to say ta-raa.

Yes, very much the same for me. I was a bit p'd off at the prices in the pre-sale for what I consider reasonably decent seats.

There were no seats left this morning for London other than VIP and that wasn't going to happen.

I thought I would wait until the general sale and see what they had available. I had already decided we weren't going up in the gods again as Mrs H is not that keen.

I've just managed to get a couple of tickets on the arena floor in a similar position to you actually @wateroftyne, so I'm Happy The Man.

I only recall that it was six shillings so I presume that was January before the D-day in February. Did the tour last right into the autumn?

Well, technically a different tour (Nursery Cryme) and they played the Town Hall again on 27/10.
Would love to have seen one of those early gigs. Great memories for you there.

The last time, in fact the only time, I saw Genesis was in 1971 at Birmingham Town Hall when they supported Lindisfarne and Van der Graaf Generator on the Charisma package tour.

A ticket was six shillings or, as we say these days, thirty pence. That's ten pence for each band.

    January or October?

Don't think Genesis are short of a few quid.

PC's net worth is currently £200 million.

MR's net worth up to £45 million.

    TB's net worth £38 million

Depends on which site you check but they have a few quid in the bank by looks of it and still they charge daft prices at their gigs. :laugh1:

I wasn’t suggesting Phil (or the others) were broke, merely that given the chance to recoup some of the massive amount of money he’s weighed out over the years, he might take it 😀.

I would have been surprised if Chester Thompson had been playing. Apart from it being Phil Collin’s son who’s replaced him, Chester Thompson is in his 70s, no disrespect to anyone where who’s that old 😁

I’m not sure if Chester is officially retired. I know he did a couple of albums fairly recently.
