And then when you think you've narrowed it down, you find that it does not work in your band mix :-) Also do you have a "target" sound/tone?

This is a really difficult question to answer - the fact is you need to try stuff out.. You're welcome to come and try some of my backline (RH450/750/Mesa) with my cabs - or take a trip to bassdirect to get an idea of the tone you're looking for.. I'm off to the South bass bash on the 24th where there will be a ton of stuff to try out and people to ask - you're welcome to carshare with me..

No problems with mine, although she was sort of surprised at the cost of my DIngwall Z3.. Went a bit quiet for a few minutes :-)

This is pretty common here in the Warwick/Leamington area... Been locking up for years without any issues

As long as it fits with what the rest of the band are playing it's fine. Often there is no one single "correct" version for the songs of these new beat combos :-)
