1.
Indeed. We are after best bang for buck on a limited budget and are playing places where there is likely to be a PA so there's little point going too mad. I am inclined to the TS215's because they seem to ahead in this market spot but am interested in any other options. Thanks again for all input.
I looked at the spec sheets quite carefully when I bought the 212's - the 215's did not seem to offer that much of an advantage for the size difference - you may well find that it does for you...
 2. Although I'm waiting for the RCF745 intervention from the normal suspects :-)
 3.
I've got a pair of Alto TS212's - can't fault them for the money - less than £500 for the pair..
We also have 2 x TS210's we use as monitors.. Again, can't fault them..
 4. Sarah bought my Jazz 5 from me - super communication, no muss, no fuss.. Another admirer of my packing skills :-)

 7.
Smart meters automatically send the reading back to the energy supplier. No need for a guy to actually come to your house to read the numbers. S.P.
Waiting for the first smart meter hack that under-reports usage..... Update - already done..
 8.
Ha. This is exactly what I had in mind. I hadn't considered the issues of fitting in car boots though.
Easier than a 810 though.. Which usually fits into the boot a medium-large estate car.. I used to have a Tecamp 810..
 9.
Fine in principle - but not all of us play in bands (or venues) that have a PA sufficiently robust to put the bass through. I know I don't.
And I'd still end up storing it and taking it to/from gigs and being moaned at...
 10. Great amps. I loved mine but it was overkill for what I needed..
 11. Bargain..... The pickups are worth nearly half the price of the bass.. And it will be superbly built...

 13.
OK - those are better pictures!
I used one of those old fashioned camera things :-)

 18.
Latest email from guitarist: "The Killers record is played In D but they tune half a step down - so the D sounds like a C#." My response: "A song (or indeed a single note) that’s played in D, but tuned down a semi-tone is no longer in D – it’s in C#. It sounds like it’s in C# because it is." Initially, I thought this was another example of the naming and communication confusion caused by guitarists' use of capos and detuning, as summarised by Steve Woodcock above. I'm sure many of us have experienced this. However, the more I talk to the guitarist, the more uncomfortable I get because he insists that the shape of the chord he's playing dictates what the chord actually is. That instantly causes problems when he, keys player and myself are trying to sort out problems in songs. We've decided to drop Mr Brightside from the setlist for now.
Does he have a tuner ? Get him to play the downtuned note and ask him to tell you what the tuner says ..
 19. Just sold a mixed lot of stuff to Gary.. no muss, no fuss, super recommended
 20. My rh750 keeps up quite nicely with my thunderfunk..
 21. Before both sets.. However one of my guitarists retunes every song for about 30 seconds.. I quite often ask why he can't buy a guitar that stays in tune,,
 22. See you there.... I'll stick some basses (including my apparently unsaleable Jazz 5), Thunderfunk 750 and Big Twin 2 in the boot with some pedals....
