1. If that Bacchus is anything like the 'Strong' model that I used to have, it's an absolutely stonking bass!
2. That's really expensive, they never used to be that much! They're absolutely mint though, I can tell you that
3.
Before we jump just on the EB approach, let me tell you from recent 'emails' and discussions with a very highly respected maker in the US, im shocked and appalled at their rudeness. I wont go destroying their credibility on here, as I doubt anyone would actually believe me. Im a little shocked about it myself. I got the feeling the brand 'name' has extended so far to actually lead to sheer arrogance.
I think it would be actually useful for you to tell us your story, would you want anyone else here falling foul of whichever company this is?
4.
Go take a look.....I think they like me.......NOT
I'm being thick or something...can't find your posts
5. Would just like to further echo the 'buy second hand' sentiment. Love Warwicks but the prices new are just absolutely ridiculous, especially for custom jobs
6. I only got as far as this:
Brian you are a forum member and surely know that you can have direct contact with me seven days a week via the forum. I find it kind of unfair that you would hang us on talk bass given the amount of time our team invests here.
F*cks sake, if he'd have posted his issues on the forum he'd have been crucified and told, like so many other people, that he should not be raising issues like this in public on the forum but that he should contact customer support directly.
7.
Gold...the bling factor.
It's just that when I see marketing blurbs that talk about 'gold plated connectors', 'precision' and how you can 'save the environment', alarm bells start going off in my head. That, and I don't really see the point. I've never not had an active bass and when the battery is starting to go it's obvious and they last bloody ages anyway. Not really sure how this device will cut down on my battery usage...
8. Seems utterly pointless to me. But I suppose it does have a gold plated connector....
9. Have a look here: http://www.britishaudioservice.com/manuals.shtml They say you can email them for schematics, might be worth a shot
10. The ironing board is a nice touch
11. I had the same problem with my sterling, my solution was to swap the pup out for a bart sadly.
12.
My favourite I'm just curious is all! It seems a very lovely bass (i've seen one from behind [s]bars[/s] glass) Just wondering if they went all the way with re-creating the Jaco bass, it would certainly be worth it if they did/do! Eh, Worth it if you want it and have the money mind you! (BTW I'm a HUGE watchmen fan )
Good man Wasn't having a go or anything, just making reference to that rather explosive thread in the for sale section (which you've seen)
13. Oh dear, this'll open up a can of worms
14.
This is a perfect example of why I feel Myung is an overrated bassist - in my opinion there is no musicality in this piece whatsoever... it's just a collection of really fast arpeggios and scale exercises played not very well at all to quite a nice ballad background piece! What's so special about that? Any bassist with half a mind to practice can do this given time and patience. I can't help but feel John really wanted to be a guitarist but got landed the role of bassist instead because no else would do it... this is just spanking the plank! PS... I know it's a jam session, but still!
Based on that video I'm finding myself agreeing with you. That really is the worst sort of bass noncing (to use the technical term). Each to their own e.t.c
15. Lovely colour that, reminds me of the Copperhead Stingray 5 that I had breifly.
16.
For a "light the blue touchpaper" moment, try posting that your Ray has lower output from the G string.
This is ridiculous though, it's a rife problem with those basses but the attitude is just fingers in ears 'la la la'.
17.
Really wow -- how's he two hand tap on She Sells Sanctuary?
Hah, I mean in the sense that he believes in the Lord Xenu and thinks that psychiatrists caused the holocaust
18. Big Poppa = Sterling Ball, the owner of the company
19. It was more 'open' before BP started posting on it, people would still moan if you dared suggest changing your pre-amp but you would actually get some advice from the more sensible people. Now it's just everyone falling over each other to tongue BP's rectum, whilst he sits there being unpleasant to anyone who doesn't wish to do so
