1. Have added some pics to show the dings on the top, they're hard to photograph!
2.
I'd love to... but I'd never pay such ridiculous prices for one evening's entertainment. If it was £40 I'd go, but £75 plus booking fees? And I'd have to get the other half one. And then pay for travel to either London or Manchester. Hm, no.
Same here. It's too much, especially to watch Roger Waters caterwauling for an evening
3. Didn't know that they did custom orders.....lovely bass that
4. It's not even jus the new models but all the special edition ones as well! I remember being on the EBBM forums years ago and seeing Big Poppa insist that they won't be doing anything new.....they must be doing alright now
5. I was going to make a joke about onions then 4000
6. No-one is attempting to 'deny' your opinion. I am simply asserting that it does not reflect well on what you have to say when you back it up with repeated ad hominem attacks as well as suggesting that people on here subscribe to the ideologies of a genocidal regime. Especially when you yourself have said: (what was that you were saying about spelling?)
No need for perosnal abuse
Of course, if this sort of thing is ok then someone let me know. I haven't been on here for a while. In the mean time, I will return to writing the research proposal for my PhD and I look forward to checking back to see if any more doubts have been cast on my intelligence.
7. Becuase being logged on means that I'm spending 100% of my time crafting responses to you?
8.
The bass is like new.
Genuinely not being funny here but is it supposed to have all that buckle rash?
9. I've been out of the loop for a while....MM are really churning out the new models aren't they?
10.
Hooray, the last few sentences sum up the entire thread. We're gonna have to live with other people's opinions which is what the OP asked for. No need for perosnal abuse, no need for Waldo at all who obviously doesn't understand the word "fascist" or how to type more than one or two sentences all in one go.
Hm, now that's an interesting point you raise. Is this why you've labelled people as 'twats', 'Nazis', insecure, 'dim' and that they subscribe to authoritarian politial ideologies? And suggest that people such as myself don't know how to type? (what's actually with that anyway?) Nice one.
11.
Ahaa, hooray for the rational thinker. It's only taken 8 pages but at last we have someone that knows what having an opinion really means.
Coming from the man who has been calling people Nazi's and fascists, this is really quite amazing
12. You could post the videos directly on here you know
13.
What the pro-Beatles party on here don't seem to be able to grasp is that statistics prove NOTHING, if it was the case then there'd be a part of this that belongs to the Spice Girls or Westlife. When you get the "experts" using the phrase "so called musicians" against other posters here or decrying their abilities or tastes in any way just because their tastes differ from yours is nothing short of FASCIST!! Music NAZI's. What the hell is wrong with you people, was it something in your upbringing that you HAVE to have agreement in your personal tastes? Does it make you feel secure, does it make you belong? As has already been proven on here MANY people don't like what McCartney did/does, that is their perogative, it's mine, they bore me, they send me to sleep, it's musak, I'd sooner stick pins in my eyes GET IT????? Are you McCartneyists too DIM to understand that, or do I need to click my heels & salute while I say it?
I haven't been on here on a while so someone will have to help me out on this: Is this guy some sort of wind up merchant?
14. Quite the bell-end but an utterly amazing musician, one of, if not the best and an hugely underrated bassist.
15. Thanks for the bass history EBS! I'll get some more photos up of the dings, just so people can see.
16. I have to admit, those guitars look absolutely wonderful
17. As part of my ongoing clearout, here is my Epi Zakk Wylde: Sounds, looks and plays like the absolute dogs Can get your usual Les Paul sound but can be turned up to give you some proper grunt! The unfinished neck is a major plus for me, it's so much nicer to play than a Les Paul in my opinion. It's in good nick apart from hairline crack in the lacquer which appeared recently, I've tried to show this in the last picture. Comes with a soft case and I'm looking for £250 Thanks for looking! Chris
18. That's an absolute cracker....just hope the sale goes through
19. For sale is my Trace 715 Combo: Cracking amp, packs a fair ol' whack and the EQ and pre-shape lets you dial in pretty much whatever sound you want. This is near mint and has only ever had very light bedroom use. Comes with footswitch, dust cover and I even still have the original box Specs:
Preshape circuit. 7-band classic Graphic Equalizer. Compressor with self-adjusting program dependant Attack/Release times. Series effects loop. Output Mute switch, active on all outputs except Tuner Out. Electronically balanced XLR DI outputs for Pre and Post Preamp. MOSFET technology 200 Watts output stage. 15” (382mm) special design Celestion speaker. High frequency horn with variable attenuation. Footswitch allowing control of Preshape, Graphic EQ, Compressor and Output Mute. Cabinet tuned, with bottom unobstructed slot, to 42Hz. Lightweight poplar plywood construction. Original classy black ‘pimple’ covered. Metal handles and protective corners. Dimensions (HxWxD): 24.5'' (622mm) x 19.3'' (491mm) x 13.2'' (335mm) Weight: 64.6lbs (28kg)
Looking for £275. Collection from Wirral or Stafford would be preffered but I'd be willing to ship at your expense. Should be about a tenner or so using senditnow Cheers, Chris.
20. Yeah as far as I know it's the older type of pre-amp, not the Rumour ones that they come with now Vol, Blend, Treble, Bass/Mid stack and a bright/hi-fi switch. Also has the pulsating LED battery indicator.
21. Am looking to sell all my gear and start from scratch so first up is my GB Spitfire: Plays wonderfully, one of the best I've ever had including my Modulii (which I didn't think could be bettered!), has a powerful jazz sort of sound. Condition wise, I'd describe it as 'well played', it's not mint but not falling apart either!. There are a few dings here and there and the odd scratch which you can see in the correct light. Recently changed the batteries in it (it comes with a handy LED battery life indicator) but the strings definitely need a change. Just want to be as honest about this as I can. Comes with GB hardcase and I'm looking for £800. No trades on this sorry. Collection from Liverpool or Stafford would be preferred but I can ship this at your cost for £20-ish, would need to check this. Any questions, I'll be happy to answer! Chris
22. I've long since dropped any interest in shopping there, although this is as much as a problem with Dawsons as it is with Ashdown. Was wanting to buy a 5 fifteen combo, so went into the store in Liverpool where they had one. Told them I wanted to buy it, fine, and they plugged it in to see if it works. Wouldn't switch on. They fiddled about trying to change the fuse but it still didn't work. So, I asked them to ring the Chester store to see if they had one. Turns out that they did. Asked them to check that it works and they said that it did. Drove all the way down there, asked to buy the amp and I asked to see it working before I handed over the cash. They plugged it in and this one didn't work either. And that kids is why I don't shop at Dawsons (or buy Ashdown products)
