1.
I could only find this pic of my rig, it's a bit similar to Daves' rig.. and Basszilla might have a similar pic to share too This pic is from a live stoner-rock recording that I played bass for last summer. It was far from the most ideal cab setup but it worked surprisingly well. The Tiny Terror and Marshall cab was being used by a synth player, my AD200B and Berg NV610 is nestled in the middle and the Orange 4x12 on the end had a Thunderverb 200 linked up to it in the other room. The Tiny Terror, NV610 and AD200B are my toys, the rest of it was borrowed from various people that kindly lent us stuff for our Orangey mission...
edit: forgot to mention, if you stick a nice vintage mic infront of an NV610 with an AD200B you're quite likely too poop yourself from the stunning tone, I've spoken to Basszilla about this before, he had a similar experience. You can also use the slave out on the AD200B as DI out live, I did this for the first time the other day at a gig and had a lot of compliments on my tone - so it must have sounded alright!

3. I don't think these will be out for a couple of months yet. I can probably get hold of a rough release date though, I'll post it here if I do.
4. Get well soon!
5.
I love the top and the simple, uncluttered look of the bass as a whole.
I think you've hit the nail on the head there. Mr Shuker has this amazing knack of keeping bass designs so sleek and stylish without making them look like exquisite coffee tables. This is something like the 4th time I've been back to look at this bass in the last day. GAS is a terrible thing.
6. That's a stunning bass. I bet you're one happy chap!
7. I've been on the hunt for something like this for a while. I'll be interested to see some pics when you've got it if possible. Thanks Ed
8. I've been using a couple of different Hercules stands for a while. I agree about the good engineering - something I've really noticed with them is how they seem to work well with that whole gravity lark, other stands that I've tried have felt like they'd just fall over with a puff of wind!
9. This is giving me major GAS! I played a new Gibson USA Thunderbird the other day and it got my GAS going but after reading that this has maple/walnut neckthru construction, ebony fretboard and flame maple body wings... want. (Defo agree on the black scratch plate though!)

BeLow, I'll send you a PM with Spikes' contact details. He biased/serviced my AD200B recently and did a sterling job for a very reasonable price.
11.
What I would like to see - altho it's probably not totally viable due to weight and space - but a dual channel bass head with an ad200b but with the added preamp from the thunderverb 200 or from the tiny terror guitar head.. it'll never happen but i think it would sound like a monster.
Just a dual channel AD200B would be killer! RRAWWWW!
12. I'm a little skeptical about Orange using digital power stages in amps. We'll have to see what the Bass Terror sounds like. They've also just announced that they're releasing a couple of cool guitar amps too. - Dual Terror: a 30 watt, 2 channel Tiny Terror - Tiny Terror Hard Wired Edition (a British-made, hi-spec Tiny Terror) I seem to remember there's a few people on here that use Tiny Terrors for their guitaring ways. I've been using one for a couple of years and it's been an awesome bit of kit so I'm quite excited about these two guitar-based things.
13.
TBH as I read through your thread the bass that came instantly to mind was a Streamer Stage I with something like 'Wizards' slapped in... then I got to the bottom line of your text. Seriously I think there is only one bass that will fit your criteria; you already own it and the 'upgrade' will cost you £100. Go for it.
It's very tempting! I've got GAS for a new toy though. If I don't find anything that takes my fancy I'll almost definitely go down the Wizard route in my Streamer.
The world is your oyster with that kind of budget these days.. Only problem is, the range of choices you have available to you which could be a bit mind-boggling.. If I had that budget, I'd be looking at something like Sandberg, ACG or Shuker custom builds or a s/h Lakland or Sadowsky perhaps. Might be worth going to Bass Direct or somewhere like it which will have a wide range of hi-end basses for you to try? Good luck with it!
ooh Shuker! Now that's a nice idea. I always loved my 5 string Shuker Jazz, I just didn't get on with 5 strings. Perhaps an email to Jon is in order
14. I'm looking for a new bass and I need something that ticks these boxes: P + J pickups Completely passive p-ups/electronics 24 Fret neck I'd quite like something vintage but it's not essential. It's fat passive tone with clear highs that I'm after, possibly something that contains a fair bit of maple. Not bothered about weight, ideally don't want to spend more than £1000 but I could go to £1500. Suggestions please The other option I have is sticking some nice passive pickups in my Warwick Streamer but I'm interested to see what basschatters have to suggest.
15. Cheers chaps, I'll have a look at LeBlond stuff.
16. I'm currently using a Silverstone amp cover for my Orange AD200B but I'm after something that gives a little more protection. Any recommendations? I'm a bit reluctant to go down the flightcase route as I imagine this will probably add about 10Kg to an amp that's already the best part of 35Kg. I've seen these Gator ones but I've got no idea what they're like, has anyone has any experience with these? - http://www.gatorcases.com/productsdetail.a...=17&PID=165

18. It's not an easy time to get dealerships in music retail. A lot of distribution companies have tightened their belts since the Sound Control fiasco. I'd recommend getting together a list of potential brands you're interested in and then figure out who's distributing them. Send some emails and back them up with phone calls.
19. That Shuker chap sure does know how to make stunning basses. I must buy a Shuker again one day!
20. Warwick basses generally downtune very well with little fuss and still sound good! Many basses sound rubbish downtuned. Perhaps another reason why they're favoured in metal?
21. Look at the flame on that! phwoar!
22. The internet has really lit a fire under small music shops. They have 2 choices as far as I can see - buck their ideas up and provide a worthwhile shopping experience and back it up with a good website, or just quit before they lose everything!
23. I've bought and sold quite a few things on here but I've been a bit rubbish about giving feedback. If I've traded with anyone can you please give me a reminder about what we sold / bought off each other? thanks
24. That's a great price. Presuming that's one of the old-style Warwick necks, this is an absolute bargain.
25. "Brand new full size bass guitar by swift music london, there is some info on the web about them,as a promotion we are including a bag, strap and lead.maple neck, solid hardwood body,a lovely guitar at a ridiculous price" Great! There's some "info on the web about them". The title of the auction is 'Beautiful Pink Bass Guitar', so all I need to do is type that into Google, right? I'm sold.
