I have one of these as Clarky notes - if this were not the case, Clarky's advert would have realised a sale within the first thirty seconds of its appearance. I'm not at a keyboard now, however, if this bass is still around when I get to one, I'll offer a full opinion. For now, an instrument worthy of all the superlatives that tend to receive liberal application whenever something like this appears. Supremely playable (for me, the tiniest, most beautiful neck available), the finest build anywhere, and an extraordinary fat, organic and focused tone. I haven't played and can't imagine a better instrument (for me, obviously). At this price, the bass is a bargain. Yes, I know that it's well beyond the reach of many of those who'd love to own it, but if you're serious about an Alembic short-scale, just try to find another at anything close to this price. One of the world's ultimate instruments for half the price of a decent second hand saloon. Stay in more.

Zaolla Silverline cable - very high-end first generation. Very nicely made, but...some occasional pops - I think that one of the jacks needs some attention. Hence, I'm selling this as operational but not delivering optimal function. If you know what you're doing or have some skill with a soldering iron, this is a bit of a bargain I suspect. Final reduction to £100 shipped (in the UK - shipping to other destinations at cost) Extremely hard to find and in beautiful, almost unused condition, an Alembic strap. 4" wide in dark brown leather with a tan suede back, and a purple inner layer (hippy sandwich detail) - the Alembic logo appears in gold. Manufactured by Moody for Alembic - the Moody logo appears in gold on the inner side. The strap has had very minor use but Schaller strap-locks were fitted and an impression is visible at the toggle holes. These straps are very rare and retail at £180 in the UK (when available - I'm fairly sure that they're no longer in production). Renowned as the 'best straps in the world' - make your own mind up on that one, however, certainly incredibly high-quality, very expensive, beautifully comfortable and perfect for heavier basses (err, like Alembic).
