  2. I’m a massive fan of John East’s work having J-Retro and U-Retro pre’s in most of my active basses. But, for fretless, I much prefer the simplicity of a passive circuit. My Fender Tony Franklin fretless PJ is all passive, two pickups, 3-way Strat style switch, and a single volume and tone. Best sounding fretless I have played, with mwahh for days. The J-Retro does have a pronounced low mid boost baked in, but I think John might have added a dip switch or jumper for a flatter response in the newer J-Retros. Mine are the older style so I have a lot of the bass controlled dialled back.
  3. That video is really good, thanks for the link.

  5. Hey, so I look after security at Pirate Studios and as you know I've already messaged you about this. As I told you, clearly and in writing, I didn't ban you for swearing at AI or the person who you thought was AI. I banned you for swearing at the artist support staff members who spoke to you on the phone and were trying to explain the situation to you. You talked over them and swore at them. The calls were recorded, I listened to them; and I'm not sure why you think then misrepresenting the matter on here is the appropriate response. As the artist support team tried to explain to you at the time, and I then did in writing, the alarm had been triggered by a previous customer vaping and this had been confirmed by our CCTV control room. We had called out a mobile response guard to reset the alarm but they were delayed. That was the situation you walked into, which you have every right to complain about - but lets keep it within the realm of the factual. I'd never ban someone simply for raising a legitimate concern, but I don't think anyone listening to the calls would disagree with my decision. I've now spoken to South Yorkshire Fire Brigade who referenced receiving a number of emails from you, our CEO, investors, our marketing director you started messaging on LinkedIn - so you can be assured this has indeed been flagged and looked into.
  6. I think what appears a fair response has accidentally been posted to look like a quote.
  7. Excellent condition lightly used Mic Mechanic vocal pedal. This is the V2 version. Affectionately known as the 'talent pedal' by the rest of the band, has a lovely inbuilt EQ that sweetens up the vocal. Also has onboard echo, reverb and pitch correction. Price includes UK postage, but no power supply or box.
  8. Thanks for this.
  9. Cheers Andy, nice one! See you at Nick's do... 5 weeks!
  10. Jim dunlop flush mount straplocks. Very good condition. The female part of the lock is designed to sit flush in the body of the guitar. Dunlop describes it like this: "The specially designed strap buttons are installed flush with the guitar body leaving nothing protruding when not using a strap for playing comfort. The strap secures to the button with a 360 groove and ball design allowing the unit to rotate without catching, the strap can be easily attached and removed from the guitar when required using the push button and interchangeable strap buttons allow the same strap to be used with several guitars. Case hardened steel skin for guaranteed long life and the system has been tested up to 800lbs of pull." Price includes UK postage.
  11. Hi ! I don't feel so comfortable yet, they are not classic jazz standards. The piano is tuned in A 442 Hz, the bass is not but maybe it should.
  12. Main board finished(-ish). The keen-eyed will notice a change in dropping resistor in the middle of the board. I had mistakenly written 1k instead of 10k on my layout! Also what I thought I were 22nF caps in my stash were actually 2.2nF, so I've had to order some more 22nF - hence the unpopulated gap next to the honking great 100uF/500V cap.
  13. I use hercules on stage. Got two of the foam leg type as the type with the fold down bit is useless on stage. I now use my one the foldy bit with it not folded down for my current home noodle bass. All my other basses/guitars are either cased, on the wall or in a rack. I keep my acoustics on the wall or on these: Excuse the stickers... it was my daughter's, she wanted to sell it as happy with her Tanglewood and I didn't have an electoacoustic.
  14. Hay must've been a handful of neck?

In fact Google Cheat Trick (Cheap Trick Tribute) to hear recordings and live examples of this bass.
  16. Excellent condition with no issues. It is soft aged at the factory. Has been modified with a J pup at the bridge position (DiMarzio) and the controls are presently Vol / Pan (no tone control as I've never seen the point!). I should have put the scratchplate back on, I do have it here and it will be included. Super low action. 18. They have dual truss rods , and the older bridges are tricky to adjust , but that said the older ones are incredibly stable. Mine do not do the usual seasonal shifts. I’ve only had to adjust the truss rods on my 4001 twice in close to thirty years. My 4000 has only been set once.since I got it. Mine have required minimal maintenance. They are very different than a Fender style instrument. I did once have to adjust the output jack on my stereo 4001. A quick tweak with some needle nosed pliers fixed that.
  19. Excellent condition for a 30 year old bass, with no issues. Classic Musicman Stingray style bridge with mutes. One of those basses that is so good that I've owned it twice! Only point of note is the 2 small holes in the pickguard where someone mounted a thumb-rest. Weight is 9lb (exactly) or 4.1kg. The neck is less wide and less 'full' than a Stingray neck and is often compared more to a Jazz profile than say a Precision. This is the earliest version with the metal battery compartment cover. Trades - 34" Sandberg... possibly.
