  1. Past hour
  2. Powers up (with generic 9V) but has very quiet, slightly distorted sound. I suspect it’s the volume pot gone but could be more… Otherwise in physically good condition. Could be a good project for the DIY enthusiasts out there.. Price is posted to the uk.
  3. All unused, top quality sets. Double ball ends but possibly can be used for shorter basses. 37” length. (I could use the outer strings on my standard scale bass but would rather sell as sets). * Newtone 5 string sets x 6: Diamond Bass, hex core, stainless steel, 46-130, length 37” (ball end to ball end) with tapered B. £25 each (discount for multi purchase) ( I also have a Hot Wires 5 string flat wound set…pm me)
  4. Maybe usable with other similar guitars? Unused so in mint condition. Postage possible…
  5. Have no idea.🤷🏽‍♂️ Not really prepared to mess with anything. A quick clean sale is preferable….
  6. Genuinely think this should be in a player’s tonal chain. Took out on a Jazz/Funk gig and it was smooth as butter!! Almost has me changing my mind…..just too much a luxury with the other stuff that I own and use!!
  7. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.
  8. Can you effectively import your settings from XR Edit into Mixing Station by loading a snapshot into the XR18 from XR Edit and then opening Mixing Station? Will it pick up the current settings in the XR18? Just wondering as it would save hours of mucking around transferring settings.
  9. Nice to see that you've been successful on two fronts.

  11. There's more than one model on that page - the default one is £7 but looks like it's just an LED light with facets, the lasery one is £17. I've just gone mad and splashed out very nearly a tenner on https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007714100673.html
  12. I hope you don’t mind me reviving the thread. I’ve had a set of the Pino flats on two basses, so I thought I’d give a little feedback from my experience. I’ve tried a number of different variations of flats on my Fender CS Sean Hurley precision, trying to find the set for it, but always found myself in the Goldilocks predicament: too much tension, not enough tension, too bright, bad intonation, etc. I’d tried Chromes, Elites, Thomastik, La Bella (stock on the Hurley), Fenders, Ernie Ball Cobalts, Ernie Ball Group Flats, and the newer Ernie Ball Group 2.5s. Thankfully, I have a small retail store, so it’s taken the sting out of it a little changing so often. The set I eventually settled on were the La Bella Olinto Signature Flats, possibly as the gauges matched the Thomastiks PowerBass rounds I use on other basses. Nice tension, maybe sounded a little more roundwound but still a nice thud. Not long after I settled on the Olintos, I saw that the Pino sets were going to be released. I’m not a lover of EB strings in general, and I really didn’t like the cobalt flats, so you can imagine my joy when the Pino Signatures were a take on the Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats…. Curiosity got the better of me, and I bought a set of the Extra Light 38-98 to pop on my Geddy Lee Jazz. Well, I took to them instantly. Although they were lighter in tension than what I was used to in a flatwound set, more ‘bouncy’ than loose, they were a joy to play. I was surprised by just how much warm/rich bottom end they had and how the top end still sang and sustained when you played a harmonic. I found them nice and balanced tonally across all strings and they possessed a ‘played in’ feel as if they’d genuinely been on the bass for a while. I was so impressed, the next morning I took my Hurley bass to the shop and took the Olintos off (😬) and put an Extra Light Pino set on. Now, after a truss rod tweak, I have the set for the bass. It has all the characteristics as above on the Geddy but then it has ‘that sound’ when you dampen the strings with the side of your hand or engage the Hurley’s mute. Long story long, I was really concerned they would be a gimmick (and the recent feedback on the EB John Mayer Signature Silver Slinky’s we’d had didn’t fill me with optimism either) and it would be another set of EB Flats on and off in quick succession. However, I’m pleased to say that I was wrong to think that and for me, with or without Pino’s name on them, I think they are worth the money. The silk wraps are a pretty colour too. Apologies for the War & Peace post! (A little OCD may have kicked in while stringing up the Hurley)
  13. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  14. Thanks! Really helpful. The Nadine had come up on my search, beautiful bit of kit but an expensive punt - interesting to hear your experience live. Hadn’t considered blending another PUP, assumed only route would be some form of ambient mic.. would you look at magnetic or another Piezo flavour?

  16. What’s the deal with these? They have a curved base rather than a flat one, in my experience all nut slots are cut flat, so has anyone used these and had to fettle either the nut or slot to get it to fit?
  17. 1 rack unit is gone so the only one left is the lower one in the photos. For sale is my used but not abused EMS 500 19" rack case. The rack is currently assembled as 6U but can be reconfigured as 3U, 6U simply by removing some bolts and panels - 10 min job! You can also configure it so the top removes for mixers. The rack is currently assembled to a board with castors which isn't included in the sale and will be removed before shipping.........unless you really, really want it and then it would be an extra £20 and whatever the increased postage is. These are quite special cases as they are modular construction where you can increase or decrease the number of rack spaces by easily adding or removing side and end panels. All you need is an allen key! You can also use them with a mixer installed in the top and the top panel can be easily removed! See the photo of how I had the units set up for my band PA. (None of the rack equipment is included.) All catches etc are in good condition. Rack to rack depth is 48cm. Weight per 6U assembly is 18lbs / 8.2kg. See the attached brochure for more details. The 6U Gator version of this case weighs 13lbs so slightly lighter but is NOT as rigid, road resilient or has the flexiblity options. As these are modular I would propose they are dismantled and flat packed for shipping to reduce the cost. I'll give details on how to re-assemble if you need but its quite straight forward. I've estimated UK postage to be £15 per unit. 6U Rack Unit 2 - the lower 6U rack unit in the photos on its own - £90 / Board with castors - £20 / Both together £100. Shipping Extra EMS.pdf
  18. Damn you, Peter Noone!
  19. I had a fretless through-neck 5 which was a nice bass. Sold it when the number of basses started getting rather high (I've bought more since then though).
  20. Yes. Once upon a time I wanted a Precision. Then, after getting one and playing it for a while, I happened across Warwick, and everything changed. I've had another shift since then, to 5 strings. Just deciding whether to go back to gigging fretless. Favourite basses now are Seis and Antoniotsais.
  21. Its the superstar badge. it is apparently awarded by posting your 20th post in 2 forums. But clearly people have done that and noone has the badge.
  22. Using it and my other dirt pedals I even managed to create a massive lo-fi bitcrushed doom sound, which is what I was dreaming of for a while now. Only tested it on headphones so far, and it sounded awesome, but I will push it through my amp's 15" speaker at my nearest convenience. Can't wait.
  23. The superstar badge
  24. Anyroadup, could it be to do with the number of times one has Won The Day?
  25. That sounds like an admirable mix, I’m glad that you’ve walked away from “The Dark Side” to the path of the righteous man (or woman) bass is like musical glue, without it music would fall apart but guitards don’t get that
  26. Not confused at all. You weren't specific enough, and the fourth Pokemon badge, as I discovered through the wonder of DuckDuckGo, is Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl. I suppose I could have said Camp Cook, but not every former Scout would have gained their badges in the same order as me.
  27. Have you tried WinISD as mentioned above? It's a bit non-intuitive if you don't know all the terms but I've managed to get it to work, so if you've used other cab software you should find it easy enough.
  28. What looks very much like the M-Vave branded equivalent of the Lekato WS-90 has come up on AliExpress for under £30 (until the 27th of August). I've ordered a set as my WS-50 receiver is getting slightly temperamental around the micro-USB socket and I like to have a spare set. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006613115406.html - I'll report on it when it arrives.
