i really want one these to ease the pain of having to sell my walnut body to build my dream bass back at christmas when life went badly wrong and i had to sell tons of stuff.
Sadly im skint having just done some amp buying but if this hangs around a bit who knows..

Nah, not me. I do have a Vintage modified Jazz that has wizard pickups fitted, all brand new too.

Tom, is the body actually made of Walnut or it it just a "walnut finish"? How heavy is it? The neck, I presume, is maple with rosewood board?

I think the body is Agathis with a walnut satin finish, the neck is maple/rosewood.
It's not a heavy bass at all, probably 8-8.5 lbs.

An excellent bass, if I may add.
With an addition of a better pair of pups (I would add -just for the looks -a chinese imitation of a badass heavy duty bridge as well) can be the main bass (gigs and studio) for a price conscious player.
Later versions have the walnut theme (for better or worse ) up to the headstock like [url="http://www.soundslive.co.uk/common/showimage.asp?image=/images/FEN-0321500543.jpg"]this one[/url]

Dang it, I should have considered this last week. I really could do with a bass for tonight that I dont have to worry about as much, and this would have been great, but no chance of getting it for today.
