This is without doubt my fave Stevie tune...been listening this since i was 14....what i love most abut this vid is Stevies dancing and (the lyrics wiat for it...."watermelon huneysuckle, chocolatechippin covered kisses for you") the AWSOME bass playing, stevies harmonica playing and Dizzies HUGE cheeks.. (check out the vid) i know now where the fast show got that sketch from

the brass section at the end is soo supreme it makes me cry...

yup,my favourite bassist - note the strings buzzing coming from his rather heavy touch, drop tuning and GHS boomers nickels! and ofcourse, natural midrange of Ray and Hartke together!!!

Not to mention all the classic up-tempo numbers on that album. If I could write one song as good as any of these I would die happy.[/quote]

Innervisions for me but not by much, Mistra Know It All with Willie Weeks on bass is fantastic.

I've been listening to Innervisions more recently, it does have some great moments on it but I don't think he'd quite reached his full stride by that point.

Just listened to Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life back to back and I think you're right.

There are a few more songs on Key of Life I don't like, but that's probably because there are just more songs.... the good ones are mostly better than Innervisons, although I still think Misstra Know it All is my favourite Stevie song.

Great afternoons listening!

"musiquarium" is something like best of... as for "innervisions" - it was always one of my favourites, very jazzy/funky 70's stylish. overall, i think "songs in the key.." is probably the best, even i dont categorize stevie' work in ranking best/worst. each of his albums is musical heaven. try "secret life of plants". or "characters"..."in the square circle".....there's a many. each one amazes me everytime what a musical genious is that man. thank you for the music, stevie,as maxwell said once .
