Stingray 05 Ltd Ed 'Buttercream/Tort'

Only just got this and I am 'really' enjoying it but I reckon I'll be better off with the Sterling version (Ltd Ed 05) as I'm not the biggest of blokes... oh and my latest shoulder pains have taught me a final lesson! :)

If you have the Sterling version and you want to do a swap then this is in 'MINT' condition and it has the original MM Ltd Ed case with cleaning cloth etc. I am not putting this up for sale so please don't ask but I might consider a trade for a standard Sterling but it would have to be in a livery that I like (i.e. pref sun/amberburst but not LPB/DK red) and a bit of cash from you.

<edit>

I'd also be interested in;

A 'lightweight' P or J bass (doesn't have to be fender) - the closer to 8lb the better... not common I realise but not unheard of. This could be a one of the new Roadworns, HW1 (sad I know but I like the relic look), CV Squier or a genuine vintage(ish) bass. Again, my preferred colour scheme is 'burst/tort/rosewood.

A Roscoe - never had one but I'm always interested in the esoteric.

A Lakland DJ - I realise it's a HUGE ask to find a light one of these but you never know. No LPB basses.

A Warwick - Streamer preferably but defo not a Thumb.

Lastly - anything that is a bit different but I must stress 'lightweight' only but no cricket bat basses.

4 string basses only. I'd want money my way if your bass is of a generally lower value but I'd not be adverse to put money forward if yours is a greater value. Please be aware that I've been disappointed in the past by sellers claims that a bass is "lighter than any other bass I've owned" etc. I want accurate weights if you are interested in trading! Sorry to be a pain in the backside about my weight demands but I have a recurring shoulder injury and I've now got to accept that however much I love a bass; 9lb is a 'maximum' weight.

I asked him about his shipping charges and could they be reappraised... and he managed to get the shipping down to $450. :)
Clearly doesnt want to ship it to the UK then, only other 2005 I came across was a battered 5 string lefty in France http://www.slappyto.net/Forum/Topic.aspx?id=24264

I like MM's well enough, but there is only one look that would make me want to buy. And this one is it. That's the *perfect* Music man for my taste mate! Lovely! Good luck with the trade...
Would you believe it of the guy who had a house full of Warwicks... I've essentially got two left and a fretless Streamer for sale! :)

I sold one of these last year, thought I'd be on the five string tip for a while, but its back to 4's with the band I'm in now, so kind of regretting it!
Like you, I have also been on the lookout for a sterling, but like RHS! Might save up and get me a classic sterling in blue, but maybe a bit too pricey right now!
Been playing my sterling all night cos I cant be bothered to get my CS jazz out of its case lol

This is a great looking bass!
There's a blue Sterling for sale on Belfast Gumtree. He's asking £700 which seems reasonable to me? I'm just posting this because I know they're hard to find.

Regard this as a free bump if you're not interested. :)

Cheers Frank, unfortunately blue/lpb is 'probably' my least favourite colour (the very pale blue of the CV Squier I like) on any bass... and every Sterling I've seen of late has been blue! :rolleyes:

I've just put a Sterling Version of your Buttercream Stingray up on ebay...

It's a lovely instrument but it was just never being played (seeing as I'm not actually a bass player).

Thanks for the offer Adam but I sold my Ray version of this locally for a large wedge less than you have yours up for; that leaves me well short of making your BIN price. :)
