CPC id CN21942 Farnell 1737250 if it was a bit of a difference I would understand, CPC seem to be aimed at small volume orders more, but it's crazy difference, and not with discount as it comes down! I'ld buy from CPC but they don't have the Lumberg mono jacks I need Not that it helps you much, but if you want the explanation, it's two fold - CPC are just selling at a lower margin, different customer base, different pricing structures. But also CPC has older, lower cost stock, so their sell price is lower. Farnell sell a lot more of this part so the physical stock we have is newer and there's been a price increase. When CPC exhaust that stock their price will go up. 2 Quote

With Farnell you get the certificates of traceability/quality documentation needed by manufacturers. Quote

LukeFRC Posted August 16 Posted August 16 CPC have an equivalent of Lumberg mono jacks too so going to try them - fingers crossed it all fits! Quote

I know lots of guys that use them too and not had a problem. Opps should have checked the component, thought you were talking about audio jacks, my bad Edited August 16 by Goliath_FX 1 Quote

Additionally, the technical documentation from CPC esp wrt some of the products that appear exclusive to them is scant. eg look at connectors and cables etc. Datasheet info maybe scant - eg for a twisted pair you are unlikely to see the lay length or screen detail eg lapped / Reussen / braid etc. Service is reliable though and I order from them. And fwiw my (very corporate) employer uses both Farnell and CPC. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I once orded from Farnell, a single microprocessor about 20mm. It arrived in a plastic frame for 100 chips about ten inches square, sandwiched under another one. In an anti-electrostatic bag. In a standard plastic bag. Surrounded by bubble wrap. In a cardboard box. Surrounded by cardboard packing. Inside a cardboard box over two feet square. Someone must have been having a very borjng afternoon. 😁 3 Quote
LukeFRC Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I ordered a tayda order on Monday morning - it's due here today. That's quicker than most UK based sellers! 1 Quote

A few of them dictate very specific terms to us, including that all products must be shipped in manufacturer supplied packaging - with waffle trays this sometimes means we have to stick one chip in a whole tray... 1 1 Quote

Maybe, but the rest was clearly a jape. It was a big AVR, I've had other Atmel chips usually in antistatic bags or boxes. Quote
