Even Shep acknowledged that it would make little financial sense for a solely bedroom player to invest that heavily in effects. I for one am happy with just my OC2 and Orbit... for now. It gives some kind of ability to be aloud to make to amke yourself broke by buying pedals. i don't even have a job atm but i do have a synth player and drummer. pantherairsoft Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Most of it will be coming from the synth player - but also his MP-201 will be midi sync'd to the midi clock of the synth so he can use LFO's that run in perfect time with song. He does use an M9 for a few sounds etc too and as that can do an awful lot, it could be part of it. Shep EDIT - Just listened again - Sounds like it's all LFO through the MP-201 into the cutoff of the LPF. He's controlling the rate of LFO with his foot. [/quote] I don't have any personal experience with it. The 1st LPF I ever tried was the Moog one and it's the one only one I've ever really used. I'm very happy with the sound so never really shopped around. I'm sure the Behringer has been discussed on this thread (if not, then definitely somewhere in the effects forum) and from what I read, it seems it does a very good job, especially given it's very reasonable price point. Meaning the LPF would be either just set to a specific point or swept by the envelope it generates. I'd imagine it could do some good sounds, but you'd be unable to do any of the synth sweeps etc... Unless you can set the envelope speed as well as the cutoff, which I imagine you can't. pantherairsoft Posted June 19, 2011 Share Posted June 19, 2011 Maybe - Difference is that the Enigma, like many pedals is predominantly an Envelope filter/Auto Wah, which can also be used for Low Pass/High Pass/Band Pass etc. Pedals Like the Moog MF-101, Iron Ether etc are dedicated Low Pass Filters, that can also be used for envelope/Wah duties. My experience has proven that you should use a Low Pass Filter of you need a Low Pass Filter, and an Envelope Filter for Envelope duties. It's generally a given that a pedal is generally better at exactly what it's designed for. As such I have an LPF and a Envelope Filter on my board. If cost is the issue - Keep an eye on eBay, my Moog LPF was £110 on eBay, which is not much more than buying a EHX pedal like the Enigma. Just be aware of the pedal's taper (my main concern with the M9/13's expression duties). TBH though, it isn't a great filter. The Resonance Q is a bit wide which means if you boost it to get a very pronounced sweep you can get into some very unmusical resonance peaks. You can either daisy chain the slaves or get a MIDI splitter. The most important point to think about is whether a device is happier as a master or a slave; for instance the Boss Loopers that have MIDI implementation don't work well as slaves. Thew Line 6 stuff apparently drifts with a clock whereas the Adrenalinn is happier as both slave and master. MIDI is the most annoying fun you can have!
