yeah its a revelation, no matter how good you thought it would be or how good your previous gear, the Matamp in the band always sounds better

I'd avoid the 2x10 since it woiuldn't split the power equally between the cabs, probably cheaper to get another 6x10 anyway :)

I did always toy with the idea of sticking a 6x10 ontop of my 4x10 but it seemed excessive so I'm going to get the 1x18 instead :).

I should really get a flightcase for mine, how much was yours (if you don't mind me asking)? I keep mine in an plastic army box (one of the ones they drop from planes) and the hinges have made 2 nice holes in the tolex on the side, down to the wood, bit of a pain but hey we buy them to use and abuse them.

I should really get the cover for my 2x12 as well.

I have honestly considered it... I don't need it though, but then, did I really need any of it? I doubt it, but I'm glad I've got it! I've been through about 7 amps over the years, but this one is here to stay!

A 2x10 would be 800 watts, so I could just use it on its own when at home, or when I'm too lazy to take the 6x10 to gigs. I originally only wanted a 2x12 cos I had my Ampeg 6x10, but teh price made teh 6x10 silly not to be bought, so got it and sold on my Ampeg.

I ordered my flightcase from Castle cases, cos I've had stuff from them before and was really happy with it. £144 delivered, just rang up with the dimensions and got it all sorted.

I'm a funny b*gger for trying to keep my gear in top nick, so definitely wanted the head flightcased before the next gig, I decided against a flight case for the cab, cos it would hide the green and make it far too heavy

I didn't know Matamp did bass amps until recently!

My brother's got a custom Matamp guitar combo and it's the best thing I've ever heard (guitar-wise).

I think I'm going to have to order one! :)

Here's Hayden servicing my bro's amp - if guitar amps count? :)

Yep! My bro met up with Hayden yesterday and had a chat about building a bass amp for me. Looking at trialling a new hybrid prototype with their valve pre-amp and this new digital poweramp they've recently come across that they're very impressed with! I'll be meeting up with him in a couple o' months when I've got enough money! :) But yeah, sounds good to me! :)
Whats the diff between the "Green" GT200's and the black Matamps ? (i think the Green ones look much snazzier)
The colour. And to an extent the date, since they ran out of green. But you can have a Green one in black. The faceplates are custom to order, so you can have whatever written on it.

They ran out of Green !! Arrghh No way' :) :) Surely i can buy some green naughahyde or whatever and ask them to use that. Man i has seriuosly set my heart on a 'Green' one

PS: I'd always asumed the "Green" lettering was a subtle two fingers up to Orange (it being the same font). Is this true ?

This dude was supposed to be sending a sample for me to take up the factory. It is cloth backed so should be good for them to use. He was cagey about shipping to the UK though.

Matamp bass valve D.I.

I am sick of showing up to a venue and they don't want to mic the bass cabinet(next year i will buy a good mic) and just use a rubbish d.i.

I did have a sansamp bass d.i. which are amazing but i just thought about getting a handmade valve d.i. and looked aroung and Avalon(digital) is amazing and a-designs reddi looked cool but why not call Matamp and see what is possible.

Andrew had a bit of fun and Put the gt200 preamp inside it which is even better.

I eat meat all the time and like the thought of a meat box(not the dod pedal) for a D.I.

I was told that it can get put into a power amp incase i don't want to take out the gt200
but i think some quiet gigs i might not need a cabinet and just take the direct input.

these were photo's from last month but it should arrive tomorrow so i will put up the finished d.i. big thanks to Andrew and Jeff.

Here are some snaps of my rare Bass 200 being serviced ready for me sometime this week I suspect (waiting on a new custom faceplate)

Bass 200 not to be confused with the GT200 ;) this has 4 transformers, 4 preamps tubes and 2 full channels of goodness.
