supabock
Hi all, Does anyone know of, or can recommend the guitarists equivalent of this site?? Steve
Cat Burrito
Depends what you play. The TDPRI is great for telecasters and I'm sure there are other sites for other guitars but teles is my thing so that's the only one I've used. I know of a Gretsch site, a Les Paul site and a Strat site. There doesn't seem to be a good all round guitar site though
budget bassist
there's ultimate guitar, but i wouldn't bother with that, it's crap. There's also harmony central, which i haven't tried.
Tait
www.theguitargrounds.co.uk is what i use. its very small, and whereas you can check in on basschat every few hours and have plenty of new posts to read, i only check in on the guitar grounds once every couple of days. but if theres something you need to know, theres some good, friendly guys there who will be able to help you out. skankdelvar
Although I may be wildly mistaken, it seems to me that many general interest guitar forums are wildly uninformative and full of crazed illiterates flaming each other about their musical tastes (kinda like BC Off-Topic after the pubs chuck out). TDPRI is truly excellent for Teles. I have also derived inordinate satisfaction from other brand-centric forums such http://gretschpages.com and http://www.fenderforum.com. There's also quite a cheery little SG forum out there - http://www.everythingsg.com As with many such forums, the membership tends to be more USA-based - and the depth of knowledge is outstanding. They're actually quite partial to a tele bass (or a '51 P) now and then too.
johnny_b
There's The Gear Page - which is mainly but not exclusively guitars - American-centric but with a fair few Brits, I've found people there helpful, lots of posters.. supabock
Thanks Guys, The plan is that i am involved in a music project and taking on the MD role, So, for my sins i am searching for competant and relatively experienced guitarists that can fill two posts in the line up. I can forward more info about the artist to interested parties later, but thought i would try guitarists forums first. Thanks Steve
wrinkleygit
nearest thing I have ever found is the forum on - vintageguitars.org.uk also has a section on vintage basses.
