My first Hohner bass had a fairly ordinary tort scratchplate nearly 40 years ago.

 

 

My brother now has it... this is the same scratchplate!

This is a work in progress - needs screwholes countersunk & knob positions decided. That requires a steady hand so it's going to need to get a bit warmer in the garage first!

I was so tempted to custom make a 5 string version of that but could never pluck up the justification!

Normal crappy Jazz scratchplate but more decorative control plate.

Its the only thing that stops me from filling the house!
