TeresaFR Posted Friday at 22:45 Posted Friday at 22:45 I'm curious whether there are any basses out there that combine all three of these characteristics, and not simply one or two? There are clearly a growing number of multiscale headess basses, but I've never heard of any that were also neck-thru - maybe there's a technical limitation that would prevent such a construction method? So, I thought I'd ask all of you; does such a bass exist, and if not, is there a scientific reason why not? Thank you. Quote
itu Posted Friday at 23:20 Posted Friday at 23:20 No, there are no technical limitations. This has all the features you asked for: https://www.kdbasses.com/basses/rev-ii-5-string-multi-scale-headless/ 2 Quote
MichaelDean Posted Saturday at 06:51 Posted Saturday at 06:51 Overload Guitars in Italy do them too. https://www.overloadguitars.com/basses 1 Quote
Wolfram Posted Saturday at 20:05 Posted Saturday at 20:05 They are a rare beast, but absolutely no technical reason they can't be made. Kiesel's Vader Bass ticks all the boxes with the right configuration, and if you go custom built then Sei and Shuker definitely make them, as I'm sure could many other luthiers. 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted yesterday at 10:37 Posted yesterday at 10:37 If you like like challenges, there are also some fretless headless neck through multiscale basses out there too... Nothing is indeed impossible. Quote
binky_bass Posted yesterday at 12:00 Posted yesterday at 12:00 And make it a 9 string bass... with triplet strings, so a 27 string... double neck. So 54 strings... fretless, headless, neckthru, multiscale... 1 Quote

Built specifically to upset other bass players, naturally! 2 Quote

Sean Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Please could someone explain this from the Overlord website about the Fujin bass? Japanese wind god, a terrifying magical demon who carries a large bag of winds on his shoulders. Often pictured alongside Raijin, and like him, our second headless bass model features a classic double-cut design. What's the double-cut design got to do with Raijin? I've lost the plot.
