On this day in 1949 Phil Lynott came into the world....the rest is history..

 For me, Thin Lizzy were one of the best bands of all-time. Phil Lynott was an extroadinary talent; singer, songwriter,frontman and teriffic bass player. The complete package.

I went to the unveiling of his staue in Dublin, 20 years ago. We then saw a Gary Moore styled Lizzy tribute that evening. Brush Shields made an appearance, Wheatus IIRC, many former Lizzy band mates came on too

Many pints of Guiness were had that weekend

Phil is much missed, an amazing songwriter and a terrific singer and bassist, I often wonder about what music he would have put out if he hadn't passed away, Thin Lizzy what a band !!
