police squad Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I mt up with a fellow bassist the other day, I bought a Rick higain pickup from him. On my clank journey he was telling me about his Ricks and amps He played me a clip on something he was working on, plugged into a V4B. It sounded amazing Who has experience of both of these amps please, I feel it should be the Ampeg all the way For my tribute gigs when I'm not supplying PA and lights, I would consider one of these amps your thoughts my learned friends Quote
Beedster Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Ampeg is always a safe bet for definitive rock tones, the great thing about the V4B is that you can wind up the power tubes at decent stage volume in a small venue. Lovely amp Quote

BassmanPaul Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago (edited) I don't know what the tube complement of the Ashdown but the 7027 tubes used in the V4B are very very expensive. up to a thousand bucks for a set of four from Fliptops. They mention the British KT88 are an alternative. Edited 29 minutes ago by BassmanPaul Quote
