Sibob Posted April 23 Posted April 23 5 hours ago, Byo said: Janek just posted the below on his YouTube channel. They have managed to secure a venue in North London, in Dalston, on the 1st of June. Tickets on sale, I bought mine just now and with the exchange from US to GBP it comes to around £35. See you all there! Si 2 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Yay - Bass Day Europe refund is now in my account = £47 Purchase cost of the ticket for the Ian Allison & Janek Gwizdala event = £39. I've now got enough left over for the price of a London pint of beer! Hahaha 3 2 Quote

I've now got enough left over for the price of a London pint of beer! Hahaha That's a pretty bad USD conversion rate, be careful if you ever spend more in another currency with that card! I got only £34.45 deducted, more than 10% difference... 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 24 Posted April 24 (edited) Good deal - you've now got more money to buy some Crisps!! Hahaha I paid for the Janek / Ian ticket via PayPal as I didn't want to use my usual bank card. Looks like PP do pretty awful conversion rates (as you mentioned above). The very business model of PP is to scam out some sizeable pocket change from all parties involved. Google "Honey browser extension scandal", owned by PP... literally everyone involved lost money, except PP. Sorry, I am a very passionate PP hater. 😁 1 2 Quote

Don't quote me on THIS as I only have 2nd hand experience and I myself have never used international options (only some of my buds), but for that purpose there should be other similar solutions that are also instant and save you more money on fees & conversions. Also, I am going crazy offtopic here, sorry 😅 Scammy conversion fees trigger me. Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted April 24 Posted April 24 Just checked my transaction for the Bass Bash ticket - it was actually £35 something I was charged, not the £38 that i quoted earlier. Only 5 weeks until the get-together happens 1 Quote

FlatsOff Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Did you guys all got the refunds? I was contacted over email and asked for mine 3 weeks ago. Today I tried to send email asking when it's going to be processed... And the apparently the sender doesn't exist anymore Of course I didn't get my money back. 550 5.1.1 The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. 1 2 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I got mine. I was notified very quickly after requesting the refund, with the funds appearing in my account just over a week later. Quote

Gbassuk1 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Hi, how did you manage to get a refund. Nothing in the email about the process and just get bounce backs from the address now. Organisers are ignoring other forms of contact. Any help appreciated. Thanks Quote
Sibob Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I suspect there will be losses for some customers as their operating costs would have been partly funded by ticket sales….so will have been partly spent I expect. This is what I mean, they’re not coming back from this, next year won’t happen, either because they won’t bother, or even less people will engage with it and it will be cancelled again. Which is a shame. Si Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I simply received the following email, to which i replied, and then got the refund based on my response. Quote
Gbassuk1 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Yeah email address turned off now - not going to give this up though, might visit their offices next time I am passing by. Quote
Wombat Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Unless you paid cash you have some form of redress through the banking system surely? Quote

Do it. If they’re going to be so belligerent towards suggestions that this was a scam then they need to prove otherwise…. Quote
