NBD Sandberg TT4

Can't believe I've done this.

I've been playing for 25 years or so (with a gap of a few years in the middle) but I'm no more than an enthusiastic amateur. My main 'gig' is in the band of my church. Always said that one day I'd love to get a really nice bass, and that day has arrived. Sold my previous pride and joy (motorbike) and have put some of the funds to work on this.

Just had delivery of this beautiful Sandberg California TT4 in aged rochfort blue.

Just getting to know it a bit, but overjoyed with first impressions on noodling about with it! I love the attention to detail which has clearly gone into the aged finishing.

I’ve been gigging a 5-string Ida Nielsen (black/gold one) for the last 4 years and it’s an awesome bass, replaced an American Elite Jazz which it played and sounded better than. I also own a shell pink TT, but this new Ida just doesn’t hang together for me. Even the newer black ones aren’t as nice since they ran out of the original gold fabric for the pickguards.

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but what's the thoughts on the new Ida Nielsen bass

Each to their own of course but it doesn't all work together for me. I think the silvery pickups are the offending element (or are those in the pic some sort of blank because you can spec it with various different types?).
