mario_buoninfante
Hi, I was curious about the fretless offer for left-handed < ~1000£. I'm not really considering the boutique/custom made options though, mainly because I doubt they'd fall below 1000 bucks. Recently I saw the following basses: Sadowsky Metro Express and Metro Line - the latter more expensive actually G&L L2000 (second hand should be around £1000, I suppose) Vintage (brand) JJ Sire JJ ESP Custom Order (on Reverb) Warwick Rockbass Maruszczyk 4 Saiter E-bass What else is there out there that I missed? Cheers, Mario

But that said, it's not the right moment for me as I'm trying to sell one of my basses first and also, I'd (probably, not 100% sure yet) be looking for a 4 string. But yours looks great, and is a good deal! Thanks for sharing though. Edited December 28, 2022 by mario_buoninfante

Secondhand the Korean made Warwick's and even German made would fit your budget. Sire do both V5 and V7 around £500 with a nice glossy fretboard.

There's also a defretted one for sale here...

That's a giveaway at that price. The seller is a decent guy, I sold him a Fender a while back.
Piers_Williamson
An alternative suggestion....pick up something like a fretted Mexican Jazz and take it to your local friendly luthier. The Bass Gallery advertises defret and lining for £110, and they will set the bass up for you

I started thinking about this since the fretless around atm aren't exactly what I'd be looking for.

I have a bass that needs to go first. No point in me piling up basses if I don't use them. This will also give me more time to investigate the market and think about it Edited January 3, 2023 by mario_buoninfante
Piers_Williamson
Cool. I'm not in the business of promoting the Gallery (although they did a fantastic job for me recently reverting a Wal to fretless). they do appear to have a new l/h Player Jazz which I am sure they would de-fret for you and set up, all within your budget. Just talk to Martin or John. I think they would take as much pride in this as a more expensive project.

Wish I could afford Yr Spector but I've just bought a Guild Starfire. A very different beast to my usual suspects but I absolutely love it.

I'll have a look (and that's it for now ). The Guild Starfire looks really interesting, I only discovered it few months ago and is a really interesting bass! mario_buoninfante
It seems like it's not used, but on sale. The interesting thing is that on sale at GuitarGuitar is basically the same as the standard price at Thomann.
