Next question- do you have a photo of them all together? I’m sure it would be a spectacular sight.

I was trying to remember who did the "basses against a fence" photo years ago. That was impressive. @cetera?

I own seven right now. That's about half of what the count was two years ago.

What I'd *really* like is to get down to three, but I don't see it happening since it's tough to sell anything bass-related in my neck of the woods these days.

As for everyone else...you know your limits...I guess...9_9

Yes, I did a basses against a fence pic about 20 years ago. Nick Smith also did the same. Could have been either that you remember....

I have 19, but the total spend is probably a fraction of what some BCers have spent on a single bass, and as I have= plenty of room...

I've only ever bought two new basses in 35 years. All the rest are 2nd hand/pre-loved/used and/or part exchanges. The bass I'm using for the C&W gig next month (a Squire PJ) cost me £100 and got compliments from our sound engineer at rehearsals.

I have a number that is probably above 10, and I was looking at doing some adverts to move them on, or at least ones that dont get played much. but I also have a new one incoming!

It's easy to forget nowadays, but for a very long time I mostly had one bass at a time, at the most two, and I had to sell that bass in order to buy whatever I fancied to replace it. I figured it was better to have one or two good basses than a few cheaper ones. This back in the days when most inexpensive instruments were pretty poor.

From when I started playing I always aspired to the best quality instruments, and I was in a process of progressively trading upwards from that point. Having a few basses is a luxury I really appreciate nowadays, even if I'm not using most of them regularly. I just like having them around.

I did the same, but I got my XL2 very early in the sequence, so in my eyes, there really wasn't anywhere to go up to. And for a very long time, my only, or one of 2 basses.
