WishIcouldplay Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 (edited) Price Drop £900 This is I believe quite a rare piece. It is tuned E to E an octave down from regular guitar. Just the same a a Fender Bass VI. Great sound and gives you that tic tac sound that was used on many country music records. Comes complete with case. Edited February 11, 2022 by WishIcouldplay 6
binky_bass Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 (edited) An interesting thing... I believe Joe Perry from Aerosmith has one of these. Edited October 26, 2020 by binky_bass
Sardar Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I've never seen one for sale in the UK before. Very cool, a modernised, hardtail Bass VI!
WishIcouldplay Posted March 18, 2021 Author Posted March 18, 2021 TheGreek asked about the string spacing. 10.4mm at the bridge 7.2mm at the nut

dub_junkie Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 I used to have one of these in the original blue dawn finish and it played and sounded great. I strung it both A to A as a baritone and E to E as a bass. In the end up I stupidly let it go cheap when I needed the cash. Sold it on the fretboard forum and then about a month or two later seen the music store Frets had it up for £1400 or thereabouts. Was right gutted then😞 I remember once taking the Silo bass into Guitar Guirar and they offered me £400 for it saying they would likely only knock it out for £800 as it was a niche instrument. I knew that was a bare faced lie so without saying anything, I shut up the case and walked out. They’re really great guitars and from my own experience they appeal more to guitar players than bass players. just imo and ymmv Joe Perry plays the Silo bass on Aerosmith's ‘Back in the Saddle’ GLWTS!
itsmedunc Posted October 20, 2021 Posted October 20, 2021 Oh, come on. I've nearly made the switch to six a few times. If I had the dosh I'd definitely be a 6'er now. Beautiful thing that it is. GLWTS
WishIcouldplay Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Just to note this is collect only.
fretmeister Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 I wish I had the money. I've wanted one of these for years and I cannot believe it hasn't gone yet.
