Scratchy pots

Recommended Posts

A can of Servisol super 10. Spray some of that in the pot, usually does the trick. Keep it in your gig bag!

Thanks matey but can I check the detail of this when you say in the pot do you mean just spray on it or does the pot need to be opened up somehow?

I've already sprayed the offending pots with electrical cleaner if some sort and so far no change...

I usually let some of it dribble down the shaft into the pot, give it a few turns and it`s sorted. Use the straw that comes with it. You don`t need much. It is actually a switch cleaner, don`t know if its any different to electrical cleaner?

I don`t know if this is the "right way" to do it but it has worked for me in the past.

If you open the control cavity, and look at the back of the pots, you'll see a small notch in the case. Spray some Servisol in there, then turn the knob back and forth, spray some more in, turn the knob, repeat a few more times, then try plugging it in.

Repeat until not scratchy.
