I did go to school with the son of a guitarist named Mickey Bennison
How strange you should mention him! Just recently he got in touch with me to carry out some work on two 6 string thingies and THEN came back saying he'd taken to noodling a bit on bass and could I perform a de-fret on a Tokai bass he had acquired. I have now completed the job and will be seeing him shortly to collect.
I would absolutely, unreservedly recommend Neil Harland! He was my teacher at Newcastle College a couple of years ago, Also Ian Paterson, he's a mate of mine and an absolutely crackin' guy! Also, Neil is indeed the salt of the earth!
I know both Neil and Ian - both splendid chaps and if you get to see Ian you will also see a rather splendid (if I may say so myself) 6-string bass I built for him in American walnut.

He's about to give a master class in how to go down.
You don't support Watford then? There are plenty of people around there that might be able to help.

Or are you a "top 4" supporter (glory hunter)?
I'm sure I'll upset a whole bunch of bass tutors by just mentioning ONE more but Kenny Potter is worth checking out!
Kenny Potter was my bass teacher when I first started playing bass. Nice bloke, good teacher. Does he have website anywhere, wouldn't mind seeing what he's up to now?

He was my first teacher too!! nice fella got me on the reading path which is currently standing me in good stead with the local theatre circuit, he introduced me to his wife with his affecionate nickname for me which was "f***PIG!!!" it would be nice to chat with him again and say thank you. I was later taught by Keith Peberdy who just a fracking dude!!! did wonders for me, Neil harland is a fantastic player and a canny fellow, visit with confidence- all the best - lee
Thanks. But I doubt he'd remember me after a 10 year gap.
Don't kid yourself. The tw*t always says hello to me when I bump into him in NEXT (usually following our respective SWMBOs), which is about Oooh... every 5-10 years! :)
